I received an e-mail from a real estate outfit and it mentioned that the road between Quepos and Dominical has now been completed and is totally paved making what used to be a multi-hour drive more like 20 minutes now. Can anyone confirm whether that is accurate. Thx.

I drove the road about a month ago and it is perfect. No problems at all. The only complaint I heard was from the people in Dominical complaning that to many tourists visit now because the road is good.

good that one stretch is finally done. that was a killer. i took the bus and besides the delay it seems like it goes off road to pick up anything that even looks like a passenger. highly recommend renting a car or taxi.

Ageed. I have spent the last 2 weekends in Dominical and the roads are great.

As for the bus and it's frequent stops.....you must have taken an "indirecto" instead of the "directo"....big difference. In most cases the buses run every hour (or so) so it is best to check (or call) the parada beforehand. IMHO
