Give me a break Harlo. Every place I know uses mozzarella cheese, which is a white cheese, when making pizza.

Your post "It has white cheese instead of yellow" indicates that where you live yellow cheese is the norm.

With "all due respect and kindness" I am asking what kind of cheese is used where you live.

  i guess Henry from DosGringos also was the delivery boy for the yellow cheese pizza joint...unfortunately, he took the order and never delivered   rumor has it that Florida flagged him down in front of the CasaVino, took the pizza, told him to hold on, he was going to get the money inside, and disappeared :D :D so now, Henry is pissed, we never got to see the pictures of the yellow cheese pizza :? :(

I thought the pizza was US quality. Owned by some Italian guy. If you are walking from Presidente on the same side of the street, you will come across two pizza places a couple of spots from one another. I can't remember the name , but it is the second one.

Ditto on Costa del Sol. All other pizza here has been uninspiring.

There is a new pizza place opening Monday called Little Italy. It's run by a guy named Will a veteran of Afghanistan, Iraq and doing business in San Jose. I was able to do the taste testing today and the dough and sauce are outstanding. Not the usual bland stuff the Ticos put out (like the rice and beans).

100 meters north of the Holiday Inn, right next door to Mora Books. Hope they have damn good pizza, as the only thing to recommend that location is that you walk past it on you way from HDR to HLH. :|

You come to a Latin country to find good pizza? You need comfort food that badly? Oh my what's to become of us? Coca-Cola colonialism in the 21st Century.

I find inconvenient, expensive and time consuming to jet off to South Philly when I am in the mood for pizza so I am always on the lookout for an adequate substitute in San Jose. Therefore I look forward to members posting their impression of various pizza outlets.

Most of us don't eat gallo pinto every day, particularly the members who live here.

When in SJ, I always have pizza for dinner 2 or 3 times a trip. Two slices and a drink for under 2,000 colones, cheap easy meal for the budget-concious. :D I always go to Costa Del Sol (take out, eat in room) or Pizza Akropolis.
