Not to sound like a broken record but CRT paid membership will pay for itself in discounts on your first trip (assuming a 5-day visit). You can get and pay for that card with Brother BKTuna (Boyd) at the Dunn Inn, guest there or not. And if you do stay there the discount applies from Day1. Gives you access to our terrific Monger Map, acccess to the whole CRT site, etc. A bargain. If as I suspect you start planning Trip 2 on the way back from Trip1, it's even more a bargain. One thing's for certain: after 1 trip to CR you will be a changed man...and that's a good thing.
Don't forget to make the Happy Hours at the SL and/or Dunn Inn--meet a bunch of Brothers, have a boca or 2, hear some good music.

I was hoping you'd say that. Didn't know if the rainy season was REALLY rainy towards October.

If you are from MIA, you won't mind. It's not Seattle. Besides, it never rains in the BM or SL.

Gentlemen,
Glad you are taking the "plunge". I also go in Oct. Normally around halloween. Great parties all over the place. SL, Del Ray some of the massage parlors. A great day. With the way halloween falls this year, Sunday, there is no way I could make it and go back to work Monday Nov 1. So I moved my trip up to Oct 10 to Oct 16. This will be trip 5 for me. Love it. Join the VIP CRT group it pays for itself with just the rooms and Little Havana. Download the map. I make several color copies and laminate one. Leave that one in the room for planning. Carefully fold one of the others and keep it with when you go out. It is a very good map. Next is after you get the VIP card you can get information from the VIP section. Very good resource.
As you walk around during the day you will find other places of interest the are not on the map but alsways a reference place that is. As they say never leave home without it. The happy hours are also a good place to gather information. I am expanding mine to include the Dunn Inn. I stay at the SL and have been to their happy hour. Lots to do in a short period of time. Enjoy the website it is a great one.
Have a good trip.
Thanks

Bobshere,

Thanks for the info! Looks like we will be coming down at the same time then, 10th through the 16th. My inital plan was Halloween also, however my work schedule won't allow it either (damn career).

Am going to go ahead and join VIP today and pick up my membership package while I'm down there in October. I'm enjoying the planning phase!

Dwood,

What days in October for your trip?

Groovy

You might want to purchase the Lifetime Membership for $99 ($60 more).

I heard about a guy or two that went to SJO for first time, and got hooked :? . Apparently the first time they walked into HDR, it fked these two up pretty good. Spent the rest of their life running to CR, and if not in CR, the were thinking/planning about it. Just glad most of our Brothers never experienced it, I'm sure you will be fine.

Hope you have a safe trip. Read and then re-read all the good advice on here about staying safe.
