I like the airport idea in principle, but the problem is distinquishing the mongers from the 'tourists'. If they handed them out in front of or near the DR, you would know the Gringo recipients would indeed be mongers.

That's funny! I've played the 'guess the mongers' game many times
at the airports in Tampa, Orlando, Atlanta, Miami, and of course San Jose. Usually I can spot perhaps 75% of them.

I wonder what would happen if DR/KL woudn't exist but only small bars like NY and others ???

I personaly think so... put it this way, I consider ingorance is a huge fact for the girls to go higher. But on the other hand we have to realize that DR/KL are the most famous places for these girls to hang around, obvously they know gringos go there... and guess what they think? THEY HAVE MONEY!!! or whoever goes there, has the $$$ to pay for a nut at whatever price the rate is. Even to me (a tico) they charge $100 plus, again they think that anyone that hangs around those places have the $$$ to pay what they want. Now what do I get?? the looks of being a "cheap bastard" of course I couldn't care less what they think... I may be cheap but not Stupid...

What I am trying to say is that these girls take advantace of the situation becasue of two things 1- they know they are at the right place and know that Gringos have the cash to pay. 2- they know they have"good" quality.

It reminds me the post of the guy buying Don Perignion, you think a well informed guy would be buying Don knowing there are hundres of other good qualities out there for half the price? At least i wouldn't...

Again, it's not a matter of being cheap but smarter.

Mente ,You are certainly not cheap but you are smart.Some people may think I am cheap but hopefully I am just frugal.I definitely don't overpay.I try to think with the big head rather than the little one when negotiating and probably the most important trait is being able to say no as there are many fish in the pond.I also find some of the best ones to be away form the Del Rey and Key Largo. rbc100
