Me and 3 of my friends did a trip down to San Jose back in March 09 and had a blast with everything we did. One of the "outside" activities that we really enjoyed was a whitewater rafting trip down the pascua river. We are planning a trip back again but much later in the season somewhere around the end of July. Does anyone know offhand if this is a good or bad time to go whitewater rafting? I know the raining season doesnt get real bad til last 3 or 4 months of the year, but I'm no expert by far. Any input would be appreciated.

You'll be going during the Veranillo. That should be an excellent time to go. The river should be recharged a bit from May and June rains but the weather should be relatively dry for those couple of weeks. The best of both worlds.
