With all these great prizes maybe I do want to be in the contest! Boyd, you got a scale over at the Dunn? I'm stopping by for HH today so I'll see you then.

I did a count on some of my normal meals that I would eat prior and found that it was easy for me to take in 5-6,000 calories in a single meal. And the salt content was unbelievable.

Have a Great Day,

Dave

Very gracious of you Nuck.

Guys give us an update on how you are doing.

I have not weighed yet but have lost somewhere in the 10-12lb range.

I have stayed on the wagon even with two trips to SL and Friday Happy Hour

The exercise is going well with a mix of treadmill, lifting and long walking sessions.

I already feel better and moved the belt one notch.

Friday Happy Hour with the pizza, subs and booze was the toughest. One of the good things about a public contest like this is that the pride factor takes over and helps me abstain.

Hey BK 8)

I wanted to point out that the Dunn has some pretty low-cal dishes like the one I had while we visited. I believe it was Rock Cod on a thin bed of rice. So any of you in this challenge should look at the menu if you're in town.

Never got to tell you how nice it was meeting your Lady. She really had me going for a second over at the SL. Anyways, let's get a shed'n some lard and lose those hot dog necks :)

All you weight loss freaks are you aware of what happened to Dolly Parton when she went on a diet ?

First turn your calculator on. Dolly went to the doctor and he took her measurements. Bust 69 inches. Press 69. Waist 22 inches. Press 22. He asked her how much she wanted to lose. Her answer 251 pounds - press 251 - in eight days. Press X8. Right. Times 8. After 8 days what did she look like ? Press = .

Now turn the calculator upside down.

(This works on nearly all calculators).

As an extra inducement to pursue your personal weight-loss progams, may I offer this nugget?
From the June-July Esquire article "Four Steps to Healthier Balls" by Harry Fisch, M. D.
LOSE THE BELLY--If you decrease the size of the pubic fat pad--that's the fat that sits right above your penis--it will make your penis look longer (which you probably don't care about) and will boost your sex drive (which you probably do). Testosterone is normally broken down in the body's fat cells, and abdominal fat breaks down testosterone extra quickly and leads to testosterone deficiency. By losing that belly fat, you'll increase the amount of testosterone in your system and feel the difference in the bedroom.
emphasis added. '

Update,

After two really good weeks, I backslid some this week. Intake was still less than typical but had a big drinking night and one bad eating night. I am down 15 lbs in total. I let some lifechanging personal news distract me somewhat.

How are the rest of you doing?

I'm in. I'm at 202 (  ). I'll be at 175-180 by my late August/early Sept trip, in about 10 weeks.

Congratulations to all those that are shedding pounds. It is fun and life changing to lose weight that you have carried for years. In three weeks since my last post, my weight has went down to 163, five more pounds which leaves me at 43 pounds lost since January. I am now within four pounds of where I want to be.

Hang in there all. It is a challenge but worth the extra energy and mental highs that you get from the weight loss. Also, it is true, your penis does show much better with no stomach.

Have a Great Day,

Dave

Good luck to all of you! I have lost 60 pounds in the last 10 months. I leave for CR on Wednesday so if you see an ugly sweaty gringo running through Park in the gulch this coming week it might be me :)

Great job!! 60 pounds over 40 or so weeks equates to 1.5 pounds a week which is exactly where the experts say a person should be, one to two pounds a week. I have been keeping my weight and I have lost just under 1.9 pounds a week for the last 23 weeks.

Have a Great Day,

Dave
