This is my second time in CR, but will be my first time on business.

I stayed in a house in Jaco the first time. This time I will be with my salesman and would like to stay in a business like hotel in San Jose. Does anyone have any recommendations? I would prefer a safer area / hotel.

I would like a tica friendly :P hotel, but something a little more toned down than Del Rey. I do not want to have a client pick me up and automatically know what was going down b/c I am staying at Del Rey.

Please help me out.

Become a VIP member of this site so you get the discount and no chica fees, then stay at the Castillo, Dunn Inn, or La Amistad.

Check out La Amistad. A very nice boutique hotel, chica friendly and minutes from the action.

You say you're travelling with your salesman. If he's in on your monger life, try a wonderful PentHouse apartment offered by a CRT Sponsor:
http://www.executive-properties.us It's right in the heart of the Gulch but not obvious as a Monger hang-out.
If he's not, hotels in order of preference are Dunn Inn, La Amistad and Castillo. BTW, you can buy, pay for and get the CRT card directly from Brother BKTuna (Boyd) at the Dunn Inn, and apply it on any discounts.
CR is about choice and we're here to help you.

So basically I have narrowed it down to either the Sleep Inn or the Presidente.

I know the Sleep Inn has a $25 chica fee...any other pros or cons of both hotels.

Or just simply re-post which hotel you would rather stay at.

Thanks

How discreet do need to be? Is not being seen at the Del Rey enough, or do want to avoid all signs of the presence of hookers, i.e. guys bringing hookers in or out? If the latter is the case, then the Sleep Inn would be best for you. It's not a real monger hotel, so the chance of a client seeing guys with hookers is pretty low, though not impossible. The Presidente is a great business hotel, though it still has a sizable monger presence, so a greater chance of seeing hookers there.

The Castillo, Amistad and Dunn Inn are not business hotels, but great CRT-friendly monger places. Heavily used by CRT guys, the chances of seeing guys with hookers is very high. Do you really want to risk having to explain to your client why that 60-year old guy over there is hanging with two or three 20-something chicas?
