Basically what the closest beach to SJO (Jaco) has to offer is a semi-beach experience AND the Beatle Bar. If you can do without either, why bother?

The weather in San Jose vs Jaco is quite different.

Jaco is very Hot and Humid.

San Jose is generally pleasant, warm in the day and cool at night.
San Jose is never as hot & humid as Jaco.
San Jose this time of year will generally see more afternoon rainshowers. It's the rainy season from June to December apprx.

Whenever I go to Jaco I'm always happy to return to the Valley just to cool off.

If the billfishing wasn't world class I would never go back to Jaco!

If you don't care about fishing or surfing there's no reason to visit Jaco.

If you surf or fish then I would say Jaco is a must.

But definitely spend some time in San Jose just for the girls

Thanks for all the info, looks like SJO and the SL, tickets bought and revs made now just have to wait untill flight time. Damn I hate waiting
