Coqui,

For whatever is worth, I don't see anything wrong with your advice.

Being a TICO and living full time here I guess I could say and provide a good advice as the one you gave. Regardless if you have been here or not you know the latino culture and that is a good fact to provide help.

For a newbie I would have provided the same advice, why? well simple because is such a shot trip and he wants to be 24 hrs at the action.

My two cents.

PS: No one knows exactly what is best for everyone, we just give the best advice possible, it's up to you, take it or leave it.

Mente

Amen, Brother. Anyone, can attest to this as with personnal preferences with chicas, dining, accomodations, etc. We all have our favorities of each, and individual choices.

Live, let live, and enjoy.

Crrocks: Coqui:
First Crrocks-I like Docego would recommend the Del Rey. Why-No. 1; No late night walk to the president. I have stayed at the hotel president and it is a better hotel than the Del Rey. I am a skinny little old man and will admit I am intimidated by that late night walk. If you are like me (or I should say as I was) and like to drink way too much it is convenient to be able to stumble from your bar stool right to your elevator. By the way I love that elevator.
Hot Ticas-I am probably not the best to give advice on this. I do 90 percent of my fishing at the Blue Marlin. I am lazy and patient. If you sit in the lobby of the Del Rey are in the bar all day like I do whatever you fancy for that day will eventually show up. The trick is to set your hook and real her in before some other fishermen puts out his line.
Money-A room at the Del Rey will run about $65 a day after taxes. There is a $10 charge each time you bring a girl to your room. I find that the girls are willing to take less if you're staying at the Del Rey and shopping out of the Blue Marlin. It is a business and its less travel time for them. I am a lazy skinny old man but on most days I make three elevator trips. Once again that travel time thing comes into play. As for how much money to burning I find I spend 2 to 300 a day. Remember that is three girls and food and drink. There is no need to bring in large sum of cash there are many ATMs.
A wonderful resource for finding just what you are looking for is the five o'clock happy hour at the Blue Marlin. Most of the time there are experienced board members there who will be happy to help you.
Do not be intimidated by all the negative things in this thread. Would be happy to answer any questions just use personal message.
Cocego: I have no problem with you answering questions using information you got from this board. It's not first-hand but it is good information. I would suggest that in answering future questions you start by saying from what I have read on this board. That way you will not be stepping on any sensitivities. One other small bit of advice is about our man in Costa Rica Vegas Bob. He is a great resource used by bold newcomers and longtime veterans. I can stay away from Costa Rica for months and by sitting down at the table with Bob for 30 minutes be caught up on everything I need to know to enjoy my trip.
It's a big world out their and there's enough room for all of us to have a good time.
