Just like DiegoC notes, I didn't argue with them in the slightest. I requested it be stamped. I never pointed to the other stamps; rather, THEY commented on them. When she said "NO", I put it back in my briefcase. It was her decision to call El Jeffe.....not mine.
Odd, since that's not what you said the first time. Let me quote what you said:

despite the fact I have had the color copy hand stamped 4 other times and so showed him.
So, since you claim you didn't point out the other stamps, why did you say "and so showed him"? That clearly indicates that you were pointing them out to him, thus my comment. If that's not what happened, then I suggest you state what happened a bit more clearly, since there is a clear discrepency between what you claim now from what you claimed then.

Besides, aren't you the ever so delightful fellow who got "kidnapped" by Policia and driven all over town and let off in ummmmm.....the ghetto? I'd still like to know who you pissed off to get that treatment; there was a lot missing from your ever so innocent tale of woe!!!
There is nothing missing, and that's exactly what happened. I didn't piss anyone off nor did I argue with them. I'm not sure what you're getting at. I've already explained the situation, so if you feel something is missing, i'd be curious to know what it is.

Aren't you the fellow who seemingly is always finding his way into one spat after another with people of "authority" in that Nation what with your GUEST status and all?
I've had a few, but I wouldn't call them "altercations". Most people on this board spend a week here, a few times a year. I go downtown at least once a week. There is much more opportunity for me to encounter police than the average board member that doesn't live here. Many of the other board members that DO live here only seem to be downtown during the day, which is also much less likely to have "altercations". I work during the day, and can only get downtown after 9 or 10pm, which is prime "gringo hunting" time.

Shall I search the message board for your protestations of innocence in all the transgression perpetrated against you by The Man?! None of that jive has EVER occurred to me.
How much time do you spend in the gulch in a year? I've lived in Costa Rica for 3 years now. I guarantee you, if you spend a lot of time there, especially at night, you will get harassed by the police every once in a while.
I also don't recall making "protestations of innocence". I don't recall ever once saying "I was innocent!". In the particular case you're referring to above, my only "crime" was that my entry stamp was not very legible, but there was nothing I could do about that. I didn't notice how poorly it was imprinted until after i was through immigration.

Oh....and just to keep the matter in perspective I was asked how long I was going to be there; I stated 15 days; and I was given 30. Not complaining....just providing intel is what I am doing.
Which is also not quite what you implied in your original messge. The thread was talking about people requesting a 90 day visa and being told they could only have 30. You stated you got a 30 day visa, which implied you were one of those people. Your clarification puts things more in perspective, since you told them you were only staying for 15 days, a 30 day visa is perfectly understandable. If you had told them 90 days, they probably would have given you a 90 day visa.

PS: Here's your sorrowful post; a tale of woe relative to your innocence which has the arroma of SOMETHING being left out of the story:
