I too heard from Nixon yesterday wherein he said "I am also dealing with an issue with the Hotel about guest fee's that they are charging. But try me again next week."

I also had asked if they were going to have a reduced rate ($ 55/night instead of $ 75/night) for May and June like they did last year and he said that there are no specials right now.

I sent Nixon an email yesterday saying if they do charge a $ 24 chica fee, that I was going to take my business elsewhere. In the meantime, I needed to get a reservation made for a room. I called Matt at La Amistad and booked a nice "King" room there for my 4 nights in May......I don't think I am going to be disappointed.

Just received email from Nixon.......he said he is still working with Clarion ownership/management regarding the chica fee.

Nixon stated that he will have a definite answer by April 10 if they are going to remove the fee or not.

That tells me it is not a question of IF they are going to implement the chica fee, sounds like it is already in place and being charged.

Received email update from Nixon today.......the chica guest fee ($24) will continue to be charged to all clients, even those who booked rooms thru him.

He said this may change next month and will update me at that time.

......... NEXT...... (Hotel).

That is a great idea. wish I would have thought of it. The maids really are very nice women there.

Read Brother BKTuna's latest Thread on the Clarion. Capsule: The Clarion was closed by tax authorities.
