The term "propina" as I understand it just means a tip not necessarily the form of the tip e.g. a candy bar is a propina--don't try that with a taxista--he'll think you're "sweet"--unless you direct him to Hotel Colours or Puchos--in that case all bets are off.

Propinas are not always automatic. However, cab fare is usually requested. But, candy is always a nice parting gift.

I asked the very same question before my first trip. check out the thread:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=26625&hilit=trinkets+gifts

Also, I always bring the following for mood in the room:
candles and a means to play music (ipod player, etc.)

On my last trip one of the brothers, JOsie, showed me something that he picked up a sex shop that I will HAVE to bring down next time. Its a candle in a small bowl that you light. After lighting it melts all of the oil and warms it up to a nice temperature. It comes with a spoon and your chica spoons out the warm oil to be used as a massage oil. He claims its very erotic and that the girls love it!!! Something like this: http://www.romanticgifts.com/wicked-wax ... andle.html

My good fellow, neither a propina nor cab fare are a requirement of any sort. All of that nonsense is included in whatever you set up for the show. Now, if the service was simply outstanding, perhaps....even then.....NOT NECESSARY.

Too, and it WILL happen sooner or later, after you get in the room and things go south before money exchanges hands (like her demanding the money before service [never, never, never do that...you can show it and put it out for display so she knows you actually do have the money....but do NOT hand it over until the night is completed]; or her copping an attitude which is far different than the attitude that was going down when you made the deal; blah, blah, blah.....EJECT the service provider and do NOT fork over one red colones for taxi. NOTHING.

Every guy has his own "style".....there is no one way.....but if you're smart (in my view)...look at the entire affair as business.....you "owe" her nothing in the way of a cab fare back to the Del Rey or wherever, particularly if she did the switcheroo on you in the room (as in attitude switcheroo).....any guy that says that's never happened to him is a stoned liar.

have fun; stay safe; and WRAP THAT RASCAL....always go in with your BOOTS ON....

Steven1 is correct. There is nothing owed. Usually, I have all things included when a price is set, including taxi and tip. Now, if after a 2 hour session you just had the best time ever and want to give the girl a little extra, that is entirely up to you.

I usually have little things to give post session. Sometimes little chocolate candies, maybe a votive candle, last time I had whistling ballons for a chica that had two K*ds. This is not a rule, just don't give away your bank account.

I bring lollipops to the girls at HLH sometimes. Breaks the ice, like Dean said, gets the "couch girls" doing something, and gets some of them to put on a show for you

A real monger would get the kingsize bars, use it as a dildo, then have her eat it while he licks the chocolate off her pu*sy.

Brother Dean is truly my hero, if only for this post. No joke.

Well, the bottom line? CASH is KING.

That being said.....and trust me on this one: The girls like COLORING BOOKS AND CRAYONS for their urchins. This is no jive.....I guess they're hard to acquire in CR or cost a bunch....I dunno.....but it works....shows your sweet, sensitive side.....

Steven1 is 100 percent correct. It is true, coloring books and crayons are very expensive in CR. Having a coloring book in English can be considered a status symbol in some neighborhood.

Just for reference, at the traditional start of the school year (late August) most big box stores like Target and WallieWorld (Walmart) offer boxes of crayons for $1. Stock up for the year.

Well, ur- as a prefix (combining form) means "earliest, original or primitive so ur-chins means "chinless wonders". OTOH, urchins principally but not necessarily meaning a boy is found here: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/urchins
If the tykes are a bit older, bring comic books--can help with learning English or Japanese.
