Can somebody help me this alt thing? I keep typing it and all that keeps coming up is altn or alta. It's driving me crazy.

Dean

Alt Codes for typing Spanish characters:
Capitals
Á ALT+0193
É ALT+0201
Í ALT+0205
Ó ALT+0211
Ú ALT+0218
Ñ ALT+0209
Ü ALT+0220

Lowercase
á ALT+0225
é ALT+0233
í ALT+0237
ó ALT+0243
ú ALT+0250
ñ ALT+0241
ü ALT+0252

Punctuation
¿ ALT+0191
¡ ALT+0161
º ALT+0186 (Masculine Ordinal)
ª ALT+0170 (Feminine Ordinal)
« ALT+0171 (Left Angle Quote)
» ALT+0187 (Right Angle Quote)
€ ALT+0128

What this means, brother Dean, is you hold down the Alt key on your keyboard while typing in the 4-digit code and then you release the Alt key. For example to type años, you type a as you normally would, then hold down Alt and type 0241 (which will not appear) and then release Alt which makes the ñ appear. You then type o and s as normal. The result is you have your años(years) instead of your anos(anuses, assh*les...)

Hope this helps. :)

ñ got it. Thanks KY.

Spanish 101

pronouns

1st singular I yo
2nd " you tú (in a familiar sense)
3rd " he,she,it él,ella,usted

1st plural we nosotros
2nd " you vosotros (don't bother learning, most don't even know it)
3rd " they ellos,ellas,ustedes

2nd person versus 3rd person singular

Simple, if you know the person hence familiar 2nd person (tú). Why accents on tú and él. Tu is also the possesive your ie tu pelo (your hair) and el is an article the ie el precio (the price). When addressing a chica using the 2nd person brings her closer to you. Addressing her in the 3rd person creates a distance. Think of it like this. Do you want a BBBJ or CBJ. BBBJ equals 2nd person ie lips on your sausage. CBJ equals 3rd person ie condom between your sausage and her lips.

2nd person plural is proper, proper Spanish from Spain. Unfortunately for me, I had no chioce but to learn it bcs my teacher was from Barcelona. Just ignore it.

The verb to be

ser stated as a fact
estar stated as temporary condition, emotions, location

yo soy estoy
tu eres estás
él,ella,usted es está
nosotros somos estamos

ellos,ellas,ustedes son están

How to use them.

Ser
Yo soy un monger I am a monger (Fact, never expect it to change)
Tú eres bonita You are pretty (notice 2nd person BBBJ  )
Tu amiga es atractiva Your friend is attractive (the friend is feminine bcs you are setting up a dupla)

Estar
Yo estoy exitado I am excited (Not forever baby, right now, lets go, be sure you have already negotiated)
Tú estás cansada Are you tired (hopefully this is after sex)
Tu N*no está enfermo Your son is sick (he will not be sick forever) BTW expect short session with phone call at an hour :(

There is another verb used, tener, which is also used but it has a specific uses.

http://spanish.about.com/od/usingpartic ... /tener.htm

I am hungry Tengo hambre
Are you thirsty Tienes sed
He is cold Él tiene frio

One last thing about to be, weather.

It is cold/hot outside Hace frío/calor

After writing all this, it is much easier to go to this site and start from the begining.

I tried to space it out better but it seems spaces and tabs weren't working as I expected.

In CR lingerie is usually referred to a ropa intima while ropa interior means underwear in gemeral.

muy bueno... es facil de apprender espanol...la practica hace la perfeccion.
(that's good..it's easy to learn spanish...practice make perfect)

I learn spanish by watching couple of TV shows, listening to spanish station...i think the most important thing in learning is knowing how to conjugate the verbs...once you get the hang of that everything else will come @ ease.....

Opinion only: Don't be afraid to apply what you learn and practice. Rarely will someone laugh at you if you make a mistake; if it is really funny they will laugh but not at you; they will laugh because it is funny. For example, once I wished everyone a happy new as*hole instead of happy new year.
