I need some advice on where to go. Since I am going for work and don't want to "invite" co-workers, where can I go that is safe given that I am flying solo. I am staying in San Jose. Appreciate the help, thanks

Just take the time to read various posts on different subjects. You can't think of a question that hasn't been covered already. After reading for a bit, it makes it easier to answer specific questions instead of general ones. Where can you go? Anywhere in San Jose you can find what your looking for.. Sounds like you may be interested in Massage Parlors or MP's, so go to that section on the main page and sniff around..

Enjoy your trip 8)

As Cujo and Hank said, check the Newbies section first -- lots of information there. Start with Orange's excellent thread called "Costa Rica for Dummies (and Newbies)" which has everything a first timer needs to know.

If you can take women back to your hotel (they allow visitors AND they don't charge you a 'chica' fee), check out Hotel Del Rey and Sportmens Lodge. Try the Sportmens first -- much more laid back atmosphere than the Del Rey, which can be overwhelming for a newbie. Plus there are always CRTers hanging around, most of whom will be happy to welcome a new brother and become "instant wingmen".

If you have to do incall instead because you don't want coworkers to know what you're up to or your hotel does not allow visitors, then massage parlors are your best bet. The ones most frequented by CRTers are Hotel Little Havana, Relax, Idem and New Fantasy. Some are better than others. Do your research.

Consider investing the 39 bucks and become a CRT VIP member. You get access to all sorts of VIP info, plus your CRT card can be used to get discounts and free stuff at CRT sponsors.

And yes, do PM Spanky, he's the most knowledgable and friendly CRTer around. Sometimes he doesn't answer right away, but repeated private messages usually get his attention.

If I were you, I would make sure to drop by places like the Sportsman Lodge and the Dunn Inn for happy hours

How about getting me a job like yours and I'll take you everywhere. :D Like Cali said, all good guys at SL. Just strike a conversation and next thing you know, latina lips on your pepe at a MP. And, there are very good ladies working at the SL.

Simpler, they may just want men to think they are as perfect as they want to appear to them, trying to hide what they consider to be the ugly truth about themselves. And I may be reading more into it than is there, but I do believe they consider the basis of the lies to be justified."

Hands down, the best thing I ever did on my first trip down was to hire Pops to be my wingman. For a very small fee, he becomes your guide to the city. What you get from this guy will more than pay for itself. Pops is a retired cop from Atlanta and one of the nicest, coolest guys you will meet down there. PM him at "pops" here or visit his web site at popsguideservice.net
