Alas mi favorita Clarion apparently no longer wants our business so I am looking at options. Anybody stayed at the Castillo lately with the new upgrades? How would you compare it to room 312 at the La Amistad for instance.

They still want your business, but they would like you to pay a chica fee. The Presidente doesn't want your business.

Orange, I agree with that statement! Hotel Presidente has changed drastically since my first visit in 2001...haven't stayed there since 2003.

The Prez sure in the hell wants my business. I have stayed there 20+ times over the last 6 years & have have brought many a dozen chicas back to my room without a problem. I have never paid a chica fee at the Prez. In fact the Prez is welcoming me back for another stay next month. Damn right they want my business.

Are they giving you a perk since you're a steady customer? I had heard the Presidente charges a chica fee.

just received update from Nixon that Clarion might be waiving the chica fee. I will find out next week. I guess my boycott really moved them

The Prez does not charge anyone staying there a chica fee, but it's 1 chica at a time in the rooms.

Ok then I heard wrong. One chica at a time would still be a deal breaker for me.

WHEW....... I hope they come to their senses and forget the chica fee BS. I do not want to have to go looking for a new place to stay. I like staying at the Clarion. I just sent Nixon an email yesterday asking if they were going to offer a discount in May and June of this year like they did in May and June of 2009 wherein the standard room was $ 55/night from $75/night. It will be interesting to see if he mentions the chica fee issue.

If the chica fee is implemented, I will let Nixon know that I will boycott and won't be staying there anymore. He knows because I book thru him....I've stayed there 8 times in 16 months. I would like to think that they would want to keep that kind of a customer.
