I am trying to book a room for Mar 9 - 16
I send email to all 3 hotels and no answer yet.

Which of the fallowing hotels charges girls fee if she stay over night. And how much ?

Hotel Castillo
Tiquicia Hotel
hemingway inn

Which one do you guys recommend factors (Hot water, Chica friendlier, nicer rooms and etc)

I just dont want to book with a hotel and when I get there they hit me with all new surprises. I saw a few post here that people are having some issues with
these hotels when it comes to CRT VIP card discounts. The hotels would advertise any thing to get us there but once we are there we have no choise to stay or they
charge our credit card for cancellation.

I think the overwhelming response you will get here is the Castillo.

Try the Dunn or Amistad. I think they both have 800 #'s

I wouldn't stay at the Tiquicia Hotel if it was free.

It's more of a hostel. The bathrooms are down a hall not in your room.

You get what you pay for.

Dunn Inn is a great value.

Freebird is also a great value.

If Dunn is full I would default to the Freebird.

My favorite is the Sportsmen's Lodge. IMHO is worth the few extra dollars.
It's just so popular I can't get a room at the SL on short notice.

Your not alone, I was "concerned" when I was choosing my hotel for my trip (first trip). After being on the forum for a little while now, I have come to the conclusion that booking with the "popular" sponsors are safe and probably your best bet. I'm a newbie and haven't been to SJ yet, so I am basing my belief on what has been talked about here on the forum. The Dunn inn's manager (BKtuna) is a pretty active member here on the forum, so I highly doubt that he would mislead you. I don't think he would want any bad press especially here on the forum. Actually his hotel receives nothing but great reviews. The Dunn Inn is listed on lonely planet which many travelers depend on for good advice. I eventually chose the Hotel Castillo based on 1. Their rates 2. The customer service I received from their online correspondent "darren" 3. The reviews here on the site. Hope that helps.

That's what I thought it was, it even says on the outside "Hotel and Hostel Tiquicia" (at the Dunn Inn now and did a bit of recon of the immediate area). I had been considering it for a budget option, but decided against it. Decided against the Castillo too, much of it seems to be old and rundown, it needs a thorough renovation (like was done with the Amistad and Dunn Inn) before I'd stay there.

The $50 standard rooms (CRT rate, taxes included) at the Dunn Inn are real nice: new tiling, beds, bathroom fixtures, 32" LCD TV's, modern remote-control AC unit, good WiFi (at least in my room :D ). Definitely one of the best values.
