Hey board--planning another trip april 1st through the 7th. Bringing a friend from overseas. Want to keep and eye on him and get a two room suite in san jose so we dont have to watch each other with chicas, and dont have to pay for two seperate room. I have stayed at sportsmens and dr and presidente. Was thinking morazan maybe as it is close to dr and I like the casino there. Would not mind sportsmens again as long as it was not out in the main area this time and had 2 rooms. Was thinking this trip I would not make any reservations and just fly in and wing it. Might go to jaco to fish sat and sun --might not---does the castillo have 2 room suites?

Juxty,

Welcome to the board. Your trip is right-smack-dab in the middle of the Easter holiday called Semana Santa, which will greatly limit your "action" from Friday April 2 thru Monday April 5. Sunday (April 4) is one of the biggest, most honored holidays of the year in CR. Many places will be closed and many chicas will not be around. You should still have a great time, but the chica numbers will be way down that weekend. Should be back to normal within a day or two after the holiday, right about the time you're leaving. :( But don't worry. A bad day in CR is still better than any regular day in the good ole U.S. of A. Naturally, YMMV.

Buena Suerte,
MG

It's "Holy week" in CR.

There are always girls around, but very few, and they may not be the types that appeal to you, but you will have little choice.

On Friday-Sun, I don't think many places will be open. The HDR and SL may be open, but the MP's will probably be closed. I believe that alcohol is not sold that week, or at least not FRi-Sun.

I would seriously think about rescheduling the trip, even though it will cost you. If you keep those dates, you may regret it afterwards.

All of the country is effected by semana santa. From Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday it will be very slow. No alcohol sales on Thursday and Friday and many MP's will not open during that period.

I dont drink, so not worried about the alcohol at all--the pu*sy on the other hand--top priority--I really like new fantasy(that is the place right down from sl?) if they are open and there are some girls hanging at the delray we should be ok.

Just so you don't get hung up like this again, check the CR Holiday Calendar that Brother Irish Drifter generously serves up every year. However for the reasons stated above, this may be one of the few times of the year the SL is easy to book--speculation on my part.

New Fantasy will definitely be closed on Fruiday and Sunday, and probably Thursday and Saturday also.

Juxty,

There will still be "some" chicas around at the HDR during that time. But unfortunately, if you're looking for that special 9 or 10, you might have to lower the bar a little. Granted, there won't be anywhere near as many as usual, but there will be some around. I'm sure you'll also find a handful of chica's in Jaco as well. It sucks that you booked your trip during this timeframe, but if all your reservations are already made, IMO just go with it. Because in CR... ya just never know. :o

Might be the same problem in Sosua and maybe even Havana--all strongly Catholic strongly family-oriented countries. I'd hesitate even to suggest Eastern European alternative like the Ukraine (Eastern Orthodox). Not something us secularists think about often but need to keep in mind.

The in-country guys can give you chapter-and-verse on this but after Easter Week the floodgates open...and the Chicas will be hungry (those Easter bonnets cost money...and the Chicas may not have had sex for a week--Oh, Papi! Flood me!). A wise choice to delay.
