I did all that with Spirit, the only catch is the 5,000 point round trips are on very select flights (dates and times). But I booked 3 free flights from the get go and that was a great deal.

Make sure to mark your calendar a year from when you get the card. They waive the annual fee for the first year, but after that they start charging you $69 a year. I called to cancel before the year and they waived the annual fee for life. Even if they don't waive the annual fee and you cancel the card don't throw it away as it will allow you to skip check-in lines and board the plane ahead of people traveling with small Ch*ldren and those requiring extra assistance, etc.

Spirit pretty much always has the 15,000 bonus miles with the first purchase on their credit card. However, your link looks a lot like the personal url I recieved http://www.3freeflights.com/119094290 and you left out the part that says,

Just wanted to let you guys who fly spirit to CR and Colombia know that Spirit is given away an added 5000 miles if you sign up for the program.This is to get folks flying with them again. which if you have the credit card is one free flight to Costa rica.So if you add the 15,000 for the card and the extra 5000 miles that's 4 free flights.

Thanks Californicationdude just trying to help brother. Spirit stated the points will be posted in 45 days so looks like we all are going to have a free trip to CR soon.

The only catch is, you gotta fly the plane yourself.

Someone should start a poll on the board as to how long they stay in business...6 months, 1 year, 18 months, 2 years, over 2 years

Having flown them many times the past couple of years, I will only fly them now as a 'last resort'
