Anyone have any luck or know if there is any advantage to bringing American Eagle silver coins to CR? The current rate is ~20 per oz. My main question is, would chicas favor coins over colones or dollars?

I think the dollar/colones conversion is complicated enough for our little darlings. But, if you do it, I would love to see the picture of her face after you ask.

Agree with the above posts--The Chicas won't give you any premium above face value for the coins. Some may put it on you a little stronger if you include a Kennedy 1/2 dollar as part of the propina--if they knew about it ahead of time (I'm talkin' about one in particular from the NYBar).

Coins are a no go. Banks will not convert them to colones.

Good luck finding chicas that will understand what the coins are, beyond the "number" of them. To them the number is all that matters. If you could find a $100 coin, they may accept it.

I knew the chicas in CR prefer bills, but it seems that the banks do too.

Thanks board, you all crack me up with the humor . I agree with one poster in that the coins should be used for what lies ahead. I have plenty to cover that Gold & silver . But got some extra silver i was pondering its use..thanks for the feedback.

Don't tell me you are gonna stoop so low, and buy these fake $20 coin on the internet that is only worth $3 and take them to CR and pay chica with them.. Man this is the lowest of the low if you ever do that....
