I just went through the booking processs on line and nowhere does it give me a no cancellation message. I put in a dummy booking and it correctly gave me a 7 day date prior to checkin in which I could cancel.

Ramair, I clicked on your link and it shows nothing under cancellation because there is no room booked. When you enter a booking (anyone is welcome to try) before you submit it shows the cancellation policy. We have now added it to the general reservation area also.

Ramair, I just went and physically looked at the printed reservations for the last 20 days. All of them that were booked through our internet site had the cancellation policy printed with a date to cancel by. I will be more than happy to scan and send to Admin1 if there is still an open question. I believe you called up the form without booking a room. Then the form shows

cancellation policy:

It is blank due to no dates to calculate from.

Nowhere does it show the language you put in red. I believe you assumed the balnk meant none and typed the comment into your post. Please advise.

Boyd

Hi Boyd,
It may be some kind of default setting on the reservation system, but it's still doing it. I did NOT type anything into the comment box, nor would I quote myself. Try it yourself using the steps below:

1. From the Dunn Inn webpage click on the "BOOK NOW" button in the Quick Reservations section. It is currently showing a default check in date of 2/18. That takes you to the room list page.

2. I clicked on the "Select Room" button for the Standard Room. That takes you to the "Review" page where I clicked on the "BOOK IT" button below the price.

3. That takes you to the page I linked to in my original post. Without entering anything, look at the box titled "Booking Terms" at the bottom of the page. That is where you will find the text I quoted. (Right above the checkbox saying, "I agree to these terms.")

Ramair,

I figured it out. If you use a date under 7 days it shows the message you listed, no cancellation. If you put in a check in date of more than 7 days in the future it shows the correct policy.

I am talkingto the web guys and the owners to fix the language, It should be made clear that a booking for 2/18 would result in no possible cancellation without penalty.

Sorry for the confusion,

Boyd

Hi... Can someone answer these questions for me? I really appreciate the help.

1) How far is Dunn Inn from Del Rey?

2) Is Dunn Inn close to walk in distance from SL & HLH?

3) Do they allow more than 1 girl at a time?

4) Is there any Chica fees?

Sorry to ask these questions but I am considering other options than SL on my next visit.

^^^^ forget the above questions :) No offence but I think I will stick to SL....I had to cancel my trip 4 times in the last three months! SL didn't charge me a penny and always showed respect when I was re-booking rooms.

I can answer some of these questions but a quick scan of the Monger Map could too.
(1) About, what, 4-5 heart-healthy blocks? OK daytime;Taxista at night
(2) Block and a half away from HLH; about 4 stiff-walking blocks from the SL
(3) Can't answer; PM Brother BKTuna about their policies but remember sharing is caring--I'll be there 11-18 April
(4) No--unless you bring the whole damn circus (see #3 above--we can work it out).

PS--I'm not being a smart-ass--everything i say is true.

I'm glad SL is working out for you, but keep in mind, you're kinda being a bad customer. When you book a room, you are essentially telling the hotel you're gonna give them your business. If you cancel, and the hotel cant sell the room, they're out the money. Maybe someone else had inquired about a room, but they declined the next customer, because you had already reserved. Now, that hotel has lost 2 customers, you, and the person who couldnt book.
I have no stake in any hotel, but I agree with a cancellation fee, especially if you're canceling trips with the frequency that you seem to.

I booked a room yesterday for April 8-15 at the Dunn Inn and it states on the confirmation I received that cancellations prior to 7 days of scheduled arrival date results in no charge. My experience with the lady I talked to (Marcela) was very pleasant and she answered all my questions. She is very fluent in English. Plus, the rate she quoted for 7 days was excellent in my opinion. I'm looking forward to a very good first visit.

That's a less-than-clear way of saying that you must cancel a reservation more than 7 days before scheduled arrival or you will be charged the full amount of the reservation. For example, if you were to cancel on April 2nd (6 days before), your CC would get charged for all 7 days.

Orange,

The language is clear now. If you cancelled 6 days prior and you were on a 5 day trip only the first day would be charged. If you cancelled five days out two days would be charged and so on. It is any day that falls within the cancellation window.
