Porno Star Holds Off Police For Two HoursA porno actor wanted on several criminal charges held police at bay in downtown San José on Thursday, holed up in a hotel near the Mercado Borbón. The man, identified as Luis Valantine, wanted for a variety of charges, including inciting a minor to take part in pornographic movies, told police he was heavily armed and had two women hostages with him. The Seccción de Delitos Sexuales y Capturas del Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) had located the man's wherabouts earlier in the morning, staying at a flee bag hotel on Calle 8, between Avenida 5 and 7, was actually in the company of two women, one said to be a minor and as one newspaper headline this morning reported, "involved in an orgy".
Police closed off Calle 8, asked everyone living and working in the area to stay inside, set up a permiter and then the members of the Servicio Policial de Intervención Inmediata (SPII) - specialized police unit - stormed the premises.
In the end, the man's claims of being heavily armed were just a show and it appears so was his claim to have a 25 centimetre (10 inch) "miembro", as he was apprehended with his pants down. Authorities said later that the women with Valantine were not hurt or were abused in any way, one of them telling authorities that she was the "girlfriend".
