Lomo:

It was just added this past week as a VIP discount hotel, so don't feel too out of it....the chica fee has been removed to VIP card holders and there is now a 10% discount off of rack rates......

I visited with the new owner of the Hemingway, notwithstanding the deal with CRT, these are the rates:

$25.00 $35.00 $50.00

At the lower rates, you can bring a girl in for an hour or so with no charge, but if she spends the night, it's $50.00.

Seems like a knowledgable guy from California named Wil. Meet him at the Bar Poas.

Castillo..You cannot get in or out unless they buzz the security door.

How about the restaurant (I know Tom is long gone but) can you still go thru there and thru pool room to the outside rooms across from the back bar and into main bldg? If so, what time does the restaurant close?, still chicas coming in there?

What Brother Prolijo said about being a long-term, er "visitor". I've done the math and costed out the investment in CRT membership--not to do a pile-on but the money benefits on hotels and restaurants are truly there and the other amenities are surely there as well--the Map, adventure discounts, access to members-only areas and that great intangible--a feeling of belonging. Senior Brother Admin1 has added a slew of other CRT Sponsor hotels in the last year and he works hard to enhance membership. It's entirely your decision of course but look at the issue logically and convince yourself. BTW, look at our list of discounts--almost all fit your criterion of a good room for <$55...and some significantly less (Hotel Freebird, e.g.).
