Interesting, they do not do racial profiling as has been suggested, they do not worry about what people are carrying, but who( old lady with .45 is safer then the wrong person with a #2 pencil in MHO ). Treat every one as the first passenger, first plane of the day---- send “test” packages thru and fire every one who misses the “test stuff”--- body language- not scanners--- interview every one before they check luggage- few of the things the guy said

Hire good people, train them right , tell them what they want them to do and then get the hell out of there way so they can do the job
Any ways interesting reading the whole story from a guy who worked for them and us.

The North American security problem is simple; they are under trained and under paid.

The result; you get people wandering around not paying attention or talking to their buddy about getting shit faced the night before. You get people who are genuinely just pissed off at everything and don't even want to be there.

You can have whatever scanner or technological piece you want in place, but like everything else if you don't have the right people there you might as well have nothing in place.

If a prospective TSA employee has an IQ over 70, they are not hired.

I agree with this 100%. But I also think that a lot of the TSA people we see in the airport cannot be trained to do the job needed. Like in the article we need people who can read the body language and know how to ask the right questions and interpret the responses. The Isrealis know how to do airport security was brought up back in 2001. And it seems we can still learn something from them.
