I just heard the best quote ever on CNN. This is coming from a spokesman for Homeland Security, regarding the Christmas Day incident.
According to Homeland Security "Despite what we were told about this individual, we did not have the intelligence to act on it". That about sums up Homeland Insecurity in a nutshell.

I feel sorry for the person sitting in front of me when I decide to bust a nut 30 minutes before touchdown so I do not let the chica have the easy one.......

Flying out of Detroit on Jan. 21...should be interesting, to say the least.

Things will calm down. This is just them trowing the kitchen sink and every thing at the problem. Once they figure out what will work from what will not work they will start to relax on what we can do from; cannot do on a flight..

If you think Fred is being far-fetched or overly satirical, Robert A. Heinlein wrote a story about aliens that could attach themselves to and take over people. The end result was everybody walking around naked with only an umbrella for sun protection. (I think I remember the story correctly--it's been 40+ years since I read it.).
BTW, this author has a lot to teach us about a lot of things, cloaked in SF garb. All good reads and all thought provoking.

Senor fred appears to be channeling Hunter S. both literally and visually. not that thats a bad thing.

I thought the same thing, but maybe when the plane is closer to the airport it's over more populated areas. There's less terror effect in the middle of the Gulf, Atlantic, Farmland, etc. Other than that reasoning, you guess is as good as mine.
