As I sat on my couch alone this evening watching college football with a beer in hand, daydreaming about my first trip to Costa Rica that will commence in exactly one month for Super Bowl weekend and all the sexy latina women that will be begging to fulfill my every desire, this vile, disgusting excuse for a commercial interrupts my football viewing pleasure. I actually had to rewind my TiVo to make sure I saw this garbage correctly as I couldn't believe my eyes. I hesitate even posting it but must do it in order for all members to see the damage that society has done to our gringas.

I bet all the poor saps stuck with a gringa (probably complaining that they are watching football to begin with) while watching the game this evening smiled sheepishly as their gringa significant other said "THATS RIGHT!" or some other variation.

Gentlemen, this commercial is exactly why more and more men are leaving the US in droves, like birds flying south for winter to avoid the harsh and uninviting climate, to places like Costa Rica, Medellin, and DR to enjoy women who actually know how to please a man.

While typically men should hold their ground and fight, the infection has spread so deep that there is little hope. It is like the Rage virus from 28 Days Later. All you can do is run from the bloodthirsty savages looking to suck you (and your bank account dry). I am shaken. I think I will go make myself a stiff drink and re-read some trip reports to relax myself.

This has been a long-term propaganda scheme forced on an unknowing society for years.

The entire diamond industry is controlled by a handful of large enterprises. They use their world-wide marketing and advertising to create an artificial market of "value" then they create the illusion that if you don't spend half your annual salary for a ring you don't "really" love her, are inexplicably cheap, less than a man and possibly gay.

It's a more expensive version of the whole "Valentine's Day" scam.

It's a good thing that you realized this for what it is. I commend you for spreading the word to help the unsuspecting see the light.

Diamonds ARE a massive propaganda scheme by DeBeers, which has a monopoly on them and thus sets the prices to make them appear "special". Theodore Gray, in his beautiful book "The Elements" (also http://www.periodictable.com/) says it best: the fine mineral derided as "cubic zirconia" is just as shiny and nearly as hard as diamond; diamonds actually melt at relatively low temperatures, are not that rare and can be synthesized. He says to not think of cubic zirconia as cheap fake diamond, but that diamond is way overpriced cubic zirconia.

This is why I flat-out refuse to buy jewelry. Shiny rocks are useless.

I agree with the posts above, but I actually found it funny. Take diamonds out of it, different message. Six scenes of a guy getting attacked and one scene of affection. No real action either, just a kiss. Had she been unzipping his pants, then at least there would be one positive outcome. Kind of sums it up for me.
