I will be in SJ next week (first time) on business and staying at the Hotel Presidente - customer's recommendation. Anyone ever stayed there? Comments? I desperately want a hookup with a hot Tica, but am very cautious for many reasons. Have read some of the newbies section. Great site! Am thinking about visiting Relax.

Thanks

Do a little more reading about the Presidente, hit that search feature up top....plenty written.

Allows chicas, but must be dressed "properly". Most girls knowthis and carry a jacket and/or pants.

If you are locked in to the Presidente...focus your energy on chica selection ;)

I've stayed there for the past four years. It is clean, nicely furnished, professional staff, and provides a very good buffet breakfast that comes with the price of the room. There are no fees for guests but they must check in at the lobby prior to going up to your room with you.

That said, the hotel allows only one guest at a time and they do have a dress code. They also keep a list of guests who have been banned from the hotel. So, during your conversations with potential guests, be sure they are appropriately attired and are allowed to visit the hotel. They know if they can or can't. In most cases, they will even ask where you're staying to detemine if they can do business with you or see if you'd be willing to spring for a room at an alternate hotel.

I'm staying there again in March, however, I will also be spending a few days at the Sportsman's Lodge and La Amistad, too. I stayed at the Sportsman's once, before they added the new wing, but have yet to stay at the La Amistad. I want to spread my wings out and enjoy some other highly rated locations.

one alternative is to also rent a room at one of the Tico hotels where the daily charge might be 10 to 15 dollars...

some of the short term rates at these same Tico hotels are the same as the rate for the entire 24 hours....

you may as well have access to a regular room for the entire 24 hours since it will be the same rate or close to the short term/hourly rate.

I ended up staying at these Tico hotels anyway and saved anywhere from 40 to 50 dollars (or more) a day in room costs.

if I wanted a nicer hotel, i'd stay at someplace like the Dunn or Amistad or SL....only stayed at the presidente my first trip....

Stay someplace else and avoid any problems for the chicas.

Suggest you look at the hotels who are CRT sponsors. Read the comments and pick one. Join CRT and receive the discounts, it will more than cover what you pay to join

I definitely recommend the Presidente. It's a great hotel with a great location. You won't be disappointed.

I don't see the chica dress code as a problem.

I totally agree with JJcastro on the Presidente. Best hotel in downtown San Jose. Rooms are great and spotless. Service is top notch. If you need anything extra for room just ask. I have never had a problem with a girl at the Presidente

Our group had over 30 girls in the prez over 5 days and only 1 was refused. Apparently because she got into it with someone a week prior and the police were called. Other than that told the girls up front where we were at and they knew to leave if it was a problem. Great rooms

I just stayed at the Prez for 5 nights the 1st week of January. The staff treated me like a king, as always, & I had no problem bringing in my usual array of slutty guests.

What is the current rates for a standard or a Jr, Suite? Last time I stayed in a Jr. Suite in 2005 it was $89 plus tax with CRT and Dec. 2007 stayed in a standard for $66

There is no longer a CRT discount, so you'll be paying rack rates unless you stay there enough to qualify for their "frequent guest" program.

that place is a dump and way, way overpriced...might as well pound your johnson with a 20 pound maul as stay there.

it's barely a step above the Tico joints....and at high gringo prices.

plus, they ration napkins.

A standard room is $101 on weekdays, $111 on weekends. PLUS 16% taxes.

They've gotta be kidding... almost $130/night on a weekend is about twice as much as it should be.

The place was great when they had the CRT discount, the junior suites and spa rooms were like $95 before the plug was pulled. Now, no way would I pay what they want for their rooms.

My preference would be to stay at the Presidente. Really a nice place and the Spa Rooms are a great way to "get lost' with a chica for 3-4 hours.

However.........After spending time, energy and $$ on drinks on the potential candidate, successfully completing the interview process, getting all pumped up in the anticipation, to have a unknown variable hanging over your head........will she or won't she (get in).

I am not going to put myself in a position for someone else to rain on my parade. Happened to me once, and it will never happen to me again.

Talk about aggravating and a MAJOR buzzkill.......F*ck the Presidente!!
