There are many types of puta vida in CR. I don't expect complete honesty in the gulch, whether in the bars or a quiet dinner at a restaurant. Ticas are good at being what you want them to be. Many of my acquiantences had a K*D and found he was hoodwinked by a jealous, vindictive bitch.

I usually maintain my guard, and don't look for love in all the wrong places.

Well, Gypsy, to each their own.
I have a lot of fun with my regulars down there, before and after sex. And they give me gifts, cook me food, do my laundry, sometimes save my ass in awkward or difficult situations.

I occasionally travel with a wingman or two or three, but most of my trips are solo because I like it that way. And having chicas as friends to travel around CR with, go partying with, etc., makes my trips much more enjoyable.

I don't care how much of a stud you are, you can't screw 24 hours a day for two weeks. And, again, to each their own, but I get bored pretty quickly just sitting in the bar drinking with a bunch of other hard-dix for hours between sessions en la cama.

On just about every trip at the SL, I talk to one or more gringos who have been there for a short time and are already complaining that, "yeah, the sex is great, but I'm bored the rest of the time."

That's never happened to me. I'm always dreading the end of each visit because I have a lot of fun doing other things with the girls, day and night.

It's true that some of the girls are just low-class putas, but some of them are good people.

In the long run, you get what you give.

Yeah,, I see the old gringo with the young chica out in regular spots all the time... Nothing to talk about, not even interacting, but somehow that satisfies the gringo... I watch, see the chicas roll their eyes a lot. Had one doing it a few minutes ago.. Didn't have time, but we both gave a knowing wink... Why the hell does viejo want to hang around me after phucking? We have nothing in common, he doesn't like the music, acts like a father kind of creepy. But as long as he pays, I'll Phuck you for fun papi....

Yeah, I avoid all those stupid request too, because I never get them in the first place.

Well, they've helped me in several ways, dealing with RV rentals and other things where someone was trying to gouge me for gringo prices. But there was one "save" I'd rather not discuss in writing when I was dealing with some shady Colombianos. I'd be glad to tell you about it over a cerveza at the SL bar one of these days.

And I actually had one novia negotiate for me with other chicas en Jaco. I speak enough spanish to negotiate my own deals usually, but she was getting me extras for less money. She also talked us into a free half-day fishing trip with a local guide whose business was slow. She told him I write for fishing magazines, which is true, and that I would write a big story about him in north american fishing magazines. That part wasn't true, because I had no specific assignment for Costa Rican fishing at that moment. It was a great trip and all it cost me was three six-packs for the boat and I bought the guy dinner and a few more beers that evening.

Having some of these girls as friends, as well as just quick sex partners, has been rewarding for me, even though it does result in being pestered sometimes for money, etc. Actually, it's not my friends who pester me, it's their other "friends" who try to con me.

I've got three girls in San Jose who I really consider to be good friends. I trust them as much as I would my buddies back here in the states. They've never lied to me that I know of, even when it would benefit them to bullshit me a little.

Living with a young Tica it is easy to tell when she is lying. I just assume that 90 % of the time when her mouth moves that in some way she is handing me BS. Having raised two sons through their teenage years, I got use to it. Nothing different here. Will women fight like cats and dogs among themselves? Hell yes! Is it okay to give into requests for money? It's your money. I have one girl I regularly help out. Thing is I know her situation. She is on the downhill side of the business and makes little money. She does it in person, not over the internet and I consider it an advance towards our next session. She accepts this and is dependable in payback. I have seen fellow mongers played. I don't make the mistake of telling them. Quick way to piss someone off is to tell him his favorita is married and supporting a lazy Tico. Best thing is to approach this as you are doing them a favor by giving them employment and they are rewarding you by giving good service. As long as it is fun you both benefit. As soon as it becomes a tiny hastle it is time to mooove on.

I especially envy the single guys living down there, they have the time to put together a harem of chicas.
And because time is on your side, you can perfect that harem to where they all act right.
