My beef with the Presd. was the various price quotes, also, once a girl has been blacklisted, for whatever reason, shes' not allowed in the hotel. Dress code violation included.
On our first trip this year, had a girl in the room, then heard a knock at the door with security telling me she had been band, well she made past the front desk, security said they made a mistake. Luckly no $ had exchanged. IMHO the Presd. is trying to change their image.
Maybe its now a family oriented hotel?
It's the SL from now on for me had a great time last trip.

You can see the same sights from the resturant beside Balmoral and eat better food IMO.

Hank, yeah the rooms are still great, espcially the spa rooms and grand spa suites.....#801, with a jacuzzi on the balcony. 8) But they also had a great CRT discount, those suites could be had for $95/night or less, while the standard rooms could be had for $60, and even less a few years ago. There also wasn't any chica dress code. During the "good" years it was the anti-HDR monger hotel, only two blocks any and 10 times better (at least :D ). Those days are gone.

If you are worried about your friend seeing you, pick up a girl, and go to Motel Eden. It is a short term motel, very nice rooms, jacuzzi's, etc. Something like $35. B/C if you are worried about your friend, and even if your chica is not wearing a skirt, not showing cleavage, and is not banned, it is very very very easy for your friend to bump into you with said chica. Could be in the lobby, elevator, he could be at the bar and see you walk in with her, he could be strolling around the hotel, on the computer, etc.

Most easily, if his room is near yours, hearing that click clack of the chica's heals, and they are loud, he may be compelled to look out the peephole and what does he see?

I remember I was on a business trip with a very reputable person i our community. The same thing happened, his room was a few rooms down from mine, I heard the heels, looked out, and out came a very fine escort out of his room. I was shocked, and never told him what I saw   :!: Then again, unlike your friend, I understand the guy's code.

PURA VIDA!

WTF!!!

I stayed at the Presidente my very first trip to SJ....from an accomodations standpoint, it is a very nice hotel. Logical thing to do for my second trip, book a room at the Presidente....right??? My first night in town, I am wound up like a 6 day alarm clock. Go to HDR make my selection and have a very nice time. It's still early, so I go back to the HDR at midnight and decide what the hell.....let's go for round # 2. Have some drinks, get revitalized and again make my selection....get to the front desk at the Presidente at 2 am and was told "my guest did not have appropriate attire and would not be allowed in."

I used my best diplomacy, tried to downplay the situation, asked what harm was being done as it was 2 am and no-one else was in the Lobby, even suggested that we would use the stairs to go to my room, reminded them that I was a repeat customer.....to no avail. Talk about a buzz kill.

So, the next day I checked out and went to the Clarion and have stayed there my next 5 trips.

F*ck the Hotel Presidente!!!!!!
