At Easter of this year I plan to visit CR for the 1st time...newbie etc...One of the things my old body misses during these long MidWest winters is riding my bicycle to do errands etc. Are bicycles 1. rentable 2. acceptable form of transport 3.taxiable 4. Tica turnoffs..
I thank this board for existing and can't wait to visit CR for the first time and maybe even meet some of the aliens who populate this board.
Thanxgs

Don't see too many bikes in SJO however, rented a bike for the week when in Jaco. Was great for just running around town. Cheap too!

sup dude,
Yeah there isn't many in San Jose on the outskirts of town i see some of the locals riding em around. But in San Jose i wouldn't suggest it. For one, you'll get it stolen soon, 2. The freaking drivers are crazy, if you are in their way, they will run you down. 3. There are way too many people on the streets and sidewalks man. It is so easy to get around town via BUS and TAXI. I suggest you do not get the bike, unless you were living on the outskirts of town. Take care dude

Biking is best at the beaches or mountains. In the city...yes, they get stolen and/or run over often. A motorcycle is best way to get around, but you better know how to handle one well in THIS city. Good luck.
