Hello everyone. I’m a complete newb preparing for my first trip to CR in late January for a week with one of my close friends. We are currently in search of a 2 bedroom apt that we could stay that is close to where the action is. I am currently trying to decide on either Sudamer apartments, La Sabana apartotel, and the Colaye apartotel. Has anybody stayed at any of these places and would you recommend? Are any of them against bringing back company? Feedback will be greatly appreciated!

LaSabana is very nice and located near Sabana Park. Probably 5000 colones taxi and 6 minutes from the gulch. Sudamer is okay about a 6 block walk from the gulch during the day but don't walk a night. Is cheaper than LaSabana . both are chica friendly

You could probably stay at the Freebird cheaper and it is closer to the action.

Clean and very secure. The only problem is most chicas have no clue where it is so if you want them to make a house call and don't show them first you have little chance of them showing up. At least that has been my experience

I stay at the Freebird and once you show them they find you real fast.

¢5000 for a taxi to Sabana? You'll get to Escazu for less. Sabana should be under 2500.

I stayed at La Sabana apartotel years ago so I don't know what it might be like currently. It isn't exactly close to the action. It was kind of far by taxi and often hard to get one during busy rush hours. The girls didn't always want to travel out there either insisting on going to the nearby Hotel Asia. The distance also made it a little hard to head back and forth too if that is something you like to do.

On the plus side it is very nice there. If you prefer a quite country setting instead of a noisy, dirty downtown city than that is a great place to be. The girls that would travel the distance turned out to be much friendlier than the ones that want to run off to a nearby hotel anyway. There is a pool in the center of the hotel and the place is pretty quiet. I think as long as you are not the rowdy sort you will fit in well. There are several good food places within walking distance as well.

The Colaye is to far from the action IMO.

Why go with an unknown quantity.

Some hotels in San Jose prohibit chicas and others charge chica fees.

Go with one of the favorites.

Sportsmens
La Amistad
Dunn Inn
Freeebird
Castillo
Hotel Little Havana

If you are a CRT VIP you'll get nice discounts at these hotels.

a few reasons:

100$ for a beautiful 2 bedroom (split by 2 people makes it only 50$ a piece)

so saving at least 25 dollars a night.. times 8 nights = 175$
.
which equals 2-3 extra tica sessions.

just tryin to get the most bang per buck.

and it has a personal kitchen(groceries instead of eating out all the time; get the ticas to cook..lol) $$

its an apartment with no reception desk(so daddy doesn't have to check your girlfriend in, possibly/hopefully)

Don't forget to factor in Taxi fares back in forth to the gulch.

The Chicas will want Taxi money back to the gulch as well.

"Oh papi I need colones for me taxi"

Location Location Location
