I'm going to be in San Jose for 4 weeks in January and was wondering if anyone could recommend Tica friendly lodging that won't break the bank - I'm hoping to have some money left over for entertainment. Not my first time to CR but I usually take Spanish classes and stay with a family. I did a few unsuccessful searches on this site - maybe someone could point me towards an appropriate thread. Any help will be appreciated.

Do a search for "apartment" in this forum.

A few that will pop-up often will be:

Apartments Sudamer
http://www.sudamer.net/index.html

Vistalinda Apartments
http://www.vistalindaapartments.com/

Scotland Apartments

Simpler, they may just want men to think they are as perfect as they want to appear to them, trying to hide what they consider to be the ugly truth about themselves. And I may be reading more into it than is there, but I do believe they consider the basis of the lies to be justified."

also talk to some our sponsors, they may be able to make arrangements for a long-term visit and give you a deal in the process. just an idea you may want to pursue.

Thanks to all who provided information. I will probably be staying at the Scotland Apartments but several of the other options looked good also. Looking forward to a month of "relaxation". Hope to see some other board member there.
