Reset!!! Welcome to the single worst move you've ever made during your young life! :!: Danger! :!:

Naw, I'm not talking about the Amistad. It's a wonderful hotel, newly remodeled and furnished, and yes...the penthouses are great!

I'm not talking about SB weekend, either.

No, the danger is this:

After your first taste of C.R. nightlife, you'll be totally fu*ked forever.

American girls, white, brown, black, golden...none of them will appeal to you anymore. You'll be regretting leaving before the wheels even lift off the tarmac at SJO for your return flight. You'll start obsessing over returning. You'll start checking flights on a daily basis. You'll even hang around CRT more.

Yep, once you take this step, nothing in your life (and I mean nothing) will feel the same as today. You will thank me for this warning, but of course you'll ignore it.

Have a great first trip. And BTW, we'll all be looking forward to your newbie trip report (definitely the most important one you'll write). :D

Buen viaje y buena suerte, 'chacho. Cuidate bien en C.R.

Saludos,

El Mujeriego Ciego (y nunca lo niego)

:D I can definitely see how folks end up addicted to Costa Rica. Let's see:
1. Take a spinner and her amiga to my hotel and tear the room up, or
2. Go shopping at Macy's with the girlfriend.

Hmmmmm. Decisions. Decisions.

You forgot that he will be wishing that there some mechanical problem that will delay his departure for a few days. Sounds familiar? :P :P :P :P

You can take that to the bank, I was back for just a little over two hours before I started checking out the ticket prices for next trip. Thought I'd gone over the deep end, but found out is a normal side effect.

Obsessing......I'm not sure that even properly describes it. As the words
written here are so true.

For me, after a 20 year marriage, divorced in 7-08, first trip to CR in 11-08 and now have enjoyed 7 trips in 12 months and planning next trip for 2-2010. Yep......I'm phucked, I know it and willingly embrace it!!

Reset, El Ciego is completely right. I am a young guy like you and after my first trip to Thailand i was hooked into this kind of life. Everything these guys tell you is true. I was lucky enough that on my first trip to BKK my flight leaving got delayed one day and i was the only passenger jumping for joy. I am going to hit up CR for the first time very soon and i am curious how it will compare to pattaya.

I have never been to Pattaya but from people I have spoken with and read here, it doesn't compare. So I wouldn't set my expectations too high. That way, you won't be disappointed.

Seriously, CR is a fun place. But what you paid in Pattaya for the whole night won't even get you an hour in CR (except in some MP's). And they don't stay the night unless you pay them more.

I know it wont be as crazy as Pattaya but i am excited about the change in scenery. And if you havent been then you defiantly need to go to Pattaya, put it on your bucket list.

Webvant,

Whenever you get time, please post a trip report when you get back from CR. It's always interesting when someone (who's been to both) compares CR with Pattaya.

I love CR for the sheer convenience of it, as well as the availability of chica's at any given time. But I agree that Pattaya has got to be on everyone's bucket list! :o

Enjoy your trip.

MG

I was reading Ydogi's first trip report with a huge smile on my face. I need someone to take a picture of the deer in the headlights look on my face when I step into the Del Rey for the first time.
