My wingman Whoreje and I have been staying at the Sportsmen's lodge for about 4 years. We always stay for 11 days each time and consider it our home away from home. I know it is not always up to my expectations but I just remind myself that I am in CR and they operate on Tico Time. That means that the world doesn't revolve around me. They have grown considerably from a few rooms to more than 3 times as large as they used to be. The new bar is great and but it also is new and they have to learn how best to operate it. Shirley is also new at running the bar since Asta left and she is also learning. Now the other Shirley will forget your order sometimes but I always make a joke about it and make her repeat what I ordered. Yet she will get distracted and I have to remind her, but to me that just gives me one more reason to have a good laugh with her about it. I sometimes wonder if the same guys who are always griping are the same ones that gripe about having to pay the working girls more than 40 dollars. We will be back in January to celebrate Whorje's birthday and already have our reservations for June and Holloween of next year. I have met so many great guys over our many trips and just being able to meet and visit with them without being hasseled while having a few beers and laughs is pricless. I just can't imagine heaven being any better. You can always go up the street to the Sportsmen's wantabe hotel and sit at the loney bar and have the trains give you an early wake up call so there will be more room at the bar and hotel for those that want to be there. Bill is a great guy and is trying his best.

Dude, why the hate?  :? Enjoy the SL. Others like the Castillo, others love the Dunn Inn. And others like La Amistad.

Exactly, MG! The SL is for guys like that, I greatly appreciate that they stay there. The Amistad isn't a "wannabe", it's a real hotel, not a whorehouse. :D

Gentlemen,

I do not post opinions much on this forum, however here goes.

I am glad that SL & LA are both loyal CRT Sponsors that are are operating at very high levels of occupancy. I believe both companies have a business plan, customer niche and are doing their best at servicing their guests and patrons at high levels as well!

Happy Hollidays!

Bill

Yes, why the hate? What does La Amistad not offer?

It's a great hotel with a very laid back atmosphere and great service. The SL is great too! Just 2 different venues.

This statement makes me think that you like meeting other CRT folks and more. Why limit yourself as there are many venues to enjoy here.
