Can anyone recommend a hotel in SanJose with a nice pool? I have stayed at the Marriott several times but it's a little too far from the action. Thanks

Hotel Santo Thomas.....several blocks from the Del Rey. Nice place, but NOT chica friendly. Close to lots of massage parlors. Do a google search for further info; lots of info available.

The places that do have pools do not want us
Greengo had a post about a kind of semi- private pool club... I will try and dig it up

Thanks for the link ID
That place looks nice
May give it a try soon for a couple of days
The rates are good
ID says they are chica friendly and by looking at the web site they do suggest that
Chica fee???
Has anyone stayed there???
Not in the belly but I like that area of town

I visited Aparthotel LaSabana and looked at the rooms. A queen bed in a small room and a kitchen with table. They had vacancy and priced it at $75 a night. The pool area is real nice but no one using it. About 3 blocks from the west bound road north of sabanna park. There is nothing around it to walk to. You would need a taxi to go anywhere.

Hotel europa has a pool but I don't know that I would use it. I was staying at the Morazon and the water was out for 26 hours  so they sent me there to take a shower.

Hank was that in May a few years back. The same thing happened to me.It was pretty scarey at the Morazon when they were giving everyone candles.I thought some drunk would burn the place down.

The elevator is usually broken a few hours a day. you wonder at some point it will quit for good  :?: If they just had combination safes I would stay there more often.

Be careful, most of the places that have pools, the pools are unheated.. which means they are COLD. Nicest pool i've seen in the San Jose area is the Sol Melia Cariari, but it's a ways from the gulch and have no idea if it's chica friendly nor not.

I wouldn't necessarily say they're chica friendly, maybe if you are discreet, but they will tell you no no no if it's the wrong scenario

I stayed at the Apartotel La Sabana years ago and there was no chica fee. I don't know of that has changed or not. They are a quiet place with some family staying there. It seemed like you just had to get in good with the night clerk since it was up to him. If you keep it after dark and are not rowdy they probably won't mind.
