Anyone been to the Latino Rock Cafe? It's located in Barrio La California. I saw an advertisement for the place last week. How big is it? What is the average age of the crowd? Apparently the bands that play there are quite diverse musically. What kind of music do MOST of the bands play? One of the bartenders at the New York Bar told me she really liked the place. I left CR last Tuesday. Too bad, as apparently they had a Guns N' Roses tribute band on Wednesday that I would have liked to have seen. I checked out their web site, and it looks 'interesting'. Thanks in advance for any info!

Yes I have been there with a CRT guy who does not post by the last name of Gandhi, and yes he is supposedly related. He is a musician and a pretty experienced drinker of Tequila. We spent the afternoon and early evening there one day and I seem to recall we had an absolutely awesome time. The place is on a corner, very small, maybe 12 tables and they blast the music to incredible levels. Definitely worth the trouble to go. We were the only gringos in the place. I wish I could remember more, but apparently the tequila was priced to sell as we drank a lot of it. Hope that helps a little. 8)

It is in Barrio California, a short distance east of downtown on the main road to San Pedro. It has been listed for sale for a couple of years. They do seem to have an ecletic booking mix of tributr bands and Latin Rock bands. 1,000 colone cab ride from the usual haunts.
