MIAMI
TEACHER CONVICTED IN CHILD-SEX CASE
A New Jersey schoolteacher on Thursday was convicted of child-sex tourism charges by a Miami federal court jury.
Jurors found George Clarke, 44, guilty on three counts of attempting to travel to Costa Rica to pay for sex with und***ge girls.
Last summer, he had booked the trip through an online travel agency called Costa Rica Taboo Vacations, which was an undercover FBI operation.
FBI agents arrested Clarke, a father of two daughters, at Miami International Airport last August when he tried to make his connecting flight to Central America. His wife is seeking a divorce.
Is an FBI sting operation entrapment? Looks like the jury did not think so. Wonder what age he checked off on the application? Want to bet it was less than 18?
