is there still a problem changing $100 bills? six years ago there were some fakes going around.

Not all the time, but there are still some places that will NOT take a $100 dollar bill with serial number starting with CB. And there's some local Tico places that won't take a $100 dollar bill - period! Just bring 50's and 20's and you'll be fine.

The only place you have no trouble getting rid of $100 bills is the Del Rey. The girls love them. Always bring $50 bills.

Actually $20's are a better idea. Some will accept 100's but it is a pain in the ass and if there is the slightest nick in them, they won't take them.
