It's one of the top five hotels in the San Jose area. I've stayed there twice, but both times were over five years ago. It's on the right as you're going from the airport to downtown San Jose. It's adjacent (well almost) to the Cariari Hotel and golf course. When I stayed there, they charged extra for guests. I don't know the policy now, but I would bet that they still charge extra.
Depending on the traffic, it's about a 15 to 20-minute cab ride from the
Gulch.

I appreciate the replies. Looks like I'm cabbing it to the gulch for some entertainment. Thanks

If you are coming on business and have to stay there I understand.

If you have a choice and you don’t want it to look so obvious, consider the Hotel Clarion Amón Plaza which fits a mongers need much better. It is on the edge of the action (very close) not in the dead center of the beast.

The Ramada Herradura is very nice. Until a few years ago it was a Sheraton.
