Trying to decide between SJO and MDE. I am a "youngish" mongerer, but have been through Adam, Jaco, Berlin, Prague. I have limited espanol, and will only have thu-sun for trip (trip planned for late feb). I am looking for a laid back long weekend and have a tendency to prefer spinners. Almost forgot..i will be rolling solo for this one. Thanks for your help and this site is friggin sweet.

I never been to MDE so I can't speak for that but I can recommend SJO. You will love it.

Good first post--sets the proper tone. Given your "limited Espanol" comment, SJO should be your choice. Later, when Pimsleur or Rosetta Stone or your course of choice has schooled you up, you do not want to miss Medellin or Cartagena or even Cali. Or Lima, Peru or...For now go with the easy less expensive choice.
BTW, if you're coming to CR for any amount of time, it would benefit you to look into paid membership here--great discounts on hotels, restaurants, ATV tours, etc, access to members-only forums, access to a great monger map, etc., etc. $39/ year--it's not a cost--it's an investment.

I have also never been to MDE, but I certainly can endorse SJO. From the info you gave us & from what others have said I think SJO would be your best bet.

It's like working your way up from the easiest, closest, and cheapest.
But right now I like SJ so much I don't want to go someplace further away or more expensive.

If you are going for a short trip, San Jose is closer and the much cheaper tickets mean more money for chicas. Chicas, hotels, and food are cheaper in Medellin but the information about how to party there is not as readily available. This is the real value of CRT. There will be many more mongers to connect with in San Jose and half the fun of the mongering experience is the partying with other CRT members.

Jazzbo CR,

I agree with your recommendation that San Jose is the best choice at this time for this guy.

However I have to take exception with your remark that it is the less expensive option. Im not sure how you roll in Colombia but other than the airfare, EVERYTHING is generally much nicer and less expensive for me in
Colombia.

Thanks for info everyone. I am all set for my trip to SJO last weekend of Feb. Jet Blue direct to CR and booking at LA. Started my spanish refresher and will be get on the CRT VIP thing shortly.

This may be a new thread, but any advice would be appreciated.
Am i better off hitting MPs for daytime action or pulling day shift from HDR or SL?

Thanks

Both. Travel around. When you see something you like, go. Don't think about what you don't have, enjoy what you have in front of you. You might not see her again on that trip. MP's, for me, are good for an afternoon BBBJ with no thought of negotiation. One day I was all psyched to go to a MP. I stopped by the SL, had a beer, turned around, saw a hottie, never made it to the MP.

And I may be reading more into it than is there, but I do believe they consider the basis of the lies to be justified."

Brother Dean has just explained by example what makes CR so special---plan, plan, plan then be prepared to chuck it all overboard when a better and/or different opportunity presents itself. Not just about Chicas either; guys breezing at the SL come up with something to do and off y'all go.

It all depends on what your style is, what you like etc..

You will find out within the first 2 days which you prefer to do...
