I think you can only pick up the card at HLH, but you'd have to ask Admin 1 about that.

I'm looking at booking the room for my first night, and thinking of cheaping it up to start..
They offered the Standard and the Standard large. I believe these are in the clubhouse section

Anyone have opinions on the Clubhouse area? Will it be quiet enough from say 3am-10am?
I think the rooms are named.. is there a recommended cheapy SL room?

I have my trip booked.. I will be a deer in headlights on the 24th at SL, and really partake at the end, Nov 14-17.

Questions:
- Can you buy whatever you want from a pharmacy.. ie. without a prescription from home? Ie. if they have it, it's for sale?
- if you use an ATM, what denominations 1k/5k/10k would come out of the machine if taking say 100k colones for local use?
or, what's the best way to get small bills?
- Can you talk with staff at SL about the chicks in the room?

Other drugs I do not know about but if you're looking for Viagra and things like it yes is available just about anywhere.

Call or go online for whatever credit card company you're using and tell them you're traveling to Central America. If not they may block your card after one or two usages. If you get colones it is usually in 10,000 notes.

I've never stayed at SL but I would imagine you could talk to them just about anything.

Personal advice. Do not overthink it you're on vacation relax and enjoy yourself. If you don't make a few mistakes your not participating enough. Do not completely trust anyone. The girl he hates may be the girl you love don't be afraid to make your own decisions. If it doesn't work out the worst thing that happens is you move onto the next one.

Unlike ATM machines in the states that usually only dispense $20 bills ATM's in Costa Rica dispense 1, 2, 5 & 10K colones. Usually the machine will dispense the least amount of bills necessary to match the withdrawal amount. So if you ask for 100K you will most likely get ten 10K notes. If you want some small bills enter something like 49K and you will usually get four 10K, one 5K and two 2K notes.

Brother G25591--If you need a medicine which even here needs a Doctor's precription--fret not, 'cuz many of the larger pharmacies have an on-premise Dr. ("doc-in-a-box") who will examine and prescribe pronto and for a nominal charge. If you have an upset stomach, there's a med available here that can help--it's called Diacort and has a small amount of antibiotic in it. I expect some flak for this mention--it's a running joke here--but it does work. I wouldn't try to take any home though--don't know about Canada but I believe it's illegal in the US.

This newbie is all set to hit CR on Saturday, at SL for the night. First stop - HLH for my VIP Card!

My original trip was to learn a little Spanish and take the eco-tour, now I've added some trolling to the list!
Luckily I made it up to Pimsleur's lesson 26 today on my own - this is the one where they teach 'Venga conmigo'.. which is ALL I need to know - lol!

After a week of actual Spanish school in Heredia, I'll party it up with a bunch of you fine folk at the Halloween bash.

Nov 14-17 I'm at the Dunn Inn with no firm plans.. the way I like it. Seems like a busy weekend overall in CR. Look forward to bumping into some of the board.
