I'm sitting here thinking of CR and just made myself a Michelada. Takes me right back to the gulch. Except I don't have a plethora of hot chicas around me to go along with it. Better plan my next trip now.

Costarican micheladas are worst than costarican hamburgers.

OK..clue us in. What is a michelada?

Hint: It's a drink that allows a chica to demonstrate her oral skills in public.

A beer with a lot of lime juice and salt on the rim of the glass or bottle.

Also a clear cut way to prove you are a tourist. I am a bar owner in Guanacaste and we serve virtually zero to our Costa Rican customers. The Ticos will drink their beer with a cup of ice and add salt to the beer but rarely will they actually ask for a michelada.

I was a big fan of it a few years ago but I really don't drink much anymore so I guess I do not get a chance to see it very often.

They are especially good when coming out of the water, probably the salt. I used to make fun of them when I first moved, but now like them from time to time. Probably because the local beer is not so good. Not terrible when on vacation but it wears on you over time.

One of my favorite photos from one of my first trips. Usually a Corona, but could be anything, a lime is rubbed over the entire neck of the bottle and then a salt shaker heavily coating the juice. Opened and then served. The girls will run their tongue the entire length of the neck and then take a drink while staring at you. Definitely an attention grabber

I prefer the days of my youth when the ho's in Mexico City would go to La Corrida (bullfights) and buy cheap seats high in the stadium. They would drink multiple Dos Equis (XX beer) and after they had consumed enough, they would lift the empty cup under their shirts, pis# in it and toss it over over the crowd to howls of delight or disgust. They never had to visit the ladies room True story from forty years ago. I always tried to sit higher than the ho's, and preferred the shady side of the stadium. Back then, I over paid the gals afterwards at $8.00 per pop cause I was a newbie.
