They can be charged with proxenetismo agravado. The penalty is 4 to 10 years.

2. It seems that only the Patrons are been held responsible
No, but patrons are liable and the penalty is three to eight years.

3. How can any tell if a girls is showing you a bogus ID.
There is a hologram that shows the holder's name, cedula number, birth-date and photograph. On tica cedulas, it's located at the bottom of the front side of the ID; on cedulas of chicas from other countries, it's located on the back side of the ID. If she doesn't have a CR cedula, you're on your own.

4. What are the punishment for these under age girls when they are caught.
They are considered victims and are referred to PANI, the Costa Rican equivalent of Ch*ldren and Family Services.

keep it simple. If you have any question whatsoever, ask for the ID.

A few more questions:

1) How much does a halfway decent fake ID (complete with hologram) cost in CR and could a chica make enough in just one session to pay for it?

2) How can you tell if a chica is using a genuine ID but one that really belongs to an older sister or friend who looks similar enough like her in a small fuzzy ID photo?

OF COURSE, at least check out their ID's if there is any doubt, but don't think that will mean any 100% guarantee. In this day and age, chicas who are under 18 can appear much older. And, in a corrupt area like CR, anything is available on the blackmarket if you've got the money to pay for it, including I suspect fake or stolen and modified ID's. Like Dramatist suggested, staying away from the ones who don't look a day under 25 would be much safer. Unfortunately, that would also rule out a lot of keepers who really are over 18. So, like so many other aspects of our hobby, it all comes down to a calculated risk. Do you want to chance that the chica who looks over 18 and has a convincing ID really isn't? Most guys will take that risk up to a point because she probably is legit. You just can never really know.

I found some info concerning the cedula (CR ID).

http://insidecostarica.com/dailynews/20 ... /nac03.htm

There is a proposed and a current cedula. Some minor differences. Most important, they use Day/Month/Year versus our mm/dd/yr. She could be 17 today ie born Dec 1, 1991 the id says 1/12/1991.

And I may be reading more into it than is there, but I do believe they consider the basis of the lies to be justified."

That's an excellent point about the date format for those who go with 18 y.o.'s. Sticking to those 19 and above would also eliminate any possible confusion because you'd be only concerned with birth year.

And that link is also very useful so that one can see pics of what a legitimate ID should look like.

However, one other part of that article that I'd like to point out supports what I've been saying about the potential for fakes:

"The reason for the update is that, according to the TSE the current equipment used gives the cedulas a very short life span, six years, and has been found that it can be duplicated by criminal organizations."

Hopefully, if the proposed ID's are implemented, we will have a little less to worry about being duped by a fake, but until then we'll just need to check them very closely and hope for the best.

Maybe someday we mongers will be able to spot a fake ID with the same expertise that ALL of the local shop keepers seem to have when it comes to spotting a counterfiet bill.
Be sure to hold her cedula up in the light and inspect it from several angels. Stop for a second to look at her suspiciously at least once and make sure to squint while you're reading. If a buddy is present ...be sure to hand it to him so that he can repeat the process. Follow it up with some whispering and a couple of glances at the chica before handing it back and finally agreeing to bang her.

And then pay her with a crinkled and torn $100 bill :P

I am quite sure you can't get a cedula until you are 18. If so you would never see the month and day reversed

Nah, you can get a cedula way before 18. You have to be 18 to get a car driver's license; not sure on the age to get a motorcycle drivers license. My wife got her motorcycle license when she was 14, and she had her cedula before that.

You can get a cedula at age 12 in CR.

ANYONE who relies on an ID of any type to confirm the actual age of a chica is playing with fire when there is a looming question overhead. Who actually believes an und***ge chica is going to be upfront when trying to make a buck? What und***ge chica is going to show you a legit ID confirming she IS NOT legally available?

This is CR... if you happen to be looking for honestly under these circumstances you can absolutely forget it.

Screw the ID... when in doubt take a hike. This isn't rocker science.

"....You can get a cedula at age 12 in CR."

Really?!?! This is the first I've ever heard this. I always thought that 18 was the age when ticos and ticas received their cedulas and that the cedula was the "gold standard" of age confirmation. I guess I need to rethink this. :?

Ok, good to be careful, but I'm doubting that there are a large number of und***ge chicas with good passable fake ID's.
