Although the question is mostly rhetorical, my view is that the only 100% certain way of avoiding all danger in this area is to only go with women who are obviously over 25, not just probably over 18. Checking ID would help, as I don't imagine a lot of youngsters go to the trouble of trying to get a fake ID (not cheap) when they can find someplace to work without one, walking the streets if nothing else. The most secure thing I can think of is to ask for photos of their grandchildren.

I like the NYB but they should be a lot more aware of the age of the girls in there and they do very little if anything to verify Id's. I at least feel that the DR and KL attempt to check ages

Yeah.....I took one out of the NYB several years ago. Got her back to the hotel. Luckily, the alert clerk at the desk checked her cedula and said "She's not the girl whose photo is in on the cedula." Turns out she was und***ge and was using someone else's cedula. That was the end of that. Let's be careful out there.

I appreciate the warning. This tread is based on hear say and is going no where. I never did like SAN and some one is right it is a TICO place, way out of bounds. Have you ever seen TICOs walking around smoking bud. Yes they are never bothered. This tread will be sure to increase the flow of gringos to SAN. Time to shut it down it is going nowhere.
