I am coming into San Jose for one night, driving in from up north, on my way home, wanted to keep the rental car and return it to the airport the next day. Do any of the hotels mentioned on this site offer secure parking? Free? Extra?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Sleep in has parking. The chica fee is a bit high. I believe the Holiday inn has parking too, and again a high chica fee.

Yeah, if you drive the Smart car, or if you still have a Yugo.

I have parked my car in front of the SL all night, but right in front where the guard can see it.

So it turns out I will not arrive into San Jose until late in the evening, and have a relatively early flight, so getting a room for "sleep" will hardly be worth it.

I really want to experience the scene @ Del Rey before I leave, as I hear it is one of the seven wonders of the mongering world (I will leave it to you to decide what the other six are...) so, a couple of questions:

1) If I park at the Del Rey, will my luggage be safe in the car? I really don't care about my clothes, but it would be a drag for my laptop to get stolen. I do have a laptop lock and can secure it to the seat brackets if required to deter a quick snatch (no pun intended), but if the idea of leaving it in the car is totally foolish I will need to rethink this plan.

2) Should I meet a lady at the del rey and want to run off for an hour or two of fun (what are the chances lol), is there an hourly place in walking distance or taxi distance that I could take her to? Any recommendations from you guys or should I rely I her to pick a place?

thanks for the advice.

Make sure your stuff is in the locked trunk. Back in to the parking stall, it makes it a little bit more difficult to get into the trunk.

The Hotel Asia is around the corner from the Del Rey. If you come out the back door of the Blue Marlin, turn left and walk to the end of the block, past the Colonial Casino. Turn right, cross the street and walk about 60 feet, it is a gawdy greenish-blue building.

There is a secure parking garage, open 24 hours, right next to the New York Bar. Close to the HDR and the Hotel Asia.

There is also gated parking (with guard) next to the Horseshoe, and another on the other side of Parque Morazon.. i park there frequently when the HDR lot is full, never had a problem.
