I came in Nov. Went again in Apr. Will be there in Jul. I am already trying to figure in Labor Day week (notice, it is no longer a weekend). I figure, why wait until after my trip in Jul to schedule the inevitable. What makes it worse for me? When I return, I go to work at one of our restaurants which is located in the middle of a Puerto Rican, Mexican and Costa Rican neighborhhood. When you guys come down, enjoy all the ladies but do not overlook reading up on the safety tips.

Where do you live where there's a Puerto Rican, Mexican, and Costa Rican neighborhood?

Also, did you have a bad experience regarding safety? Just curious....

Gracia mi amigos,
All suggestions are welcome. My plans are by no means set in stone. I plan on having the flexibilty to check many (if not most) of the places you have recommended. I like the Latin life style and frame of mind. The women are not the only thing, but a definite plus. I try to pick the minds of all CRT members I meet for new ideas. Joining the brotherhood was one of the best things I have ever done. Again, thanks to all.

You should try Thailand for three weeks. I hear once you get there you can really stretch a buck, along with a few other things. lol

It is Logan Square, a neighbor hood in Chicago. Parts of it are changing but there a Mega Mall 1/2 a block away. Need I say more. Nothing has happened to me but as I read about things happening to others, I stop and think. Let's face it. Sometimes your mind is focused on the chica and you might forget about uncommon sense.

Okay, you're about to make your first trip into the land of milk and honeys. You're excited about dipping into a little Latina action, trying local foods and beverages, maybe even getting out of Gringo Gulch and looking around this beautiful little country, which is only about the size of the state of West Virginia. You've got your passport, your lubes and condoms. You've voraciously consumed post after post here on CRT.

Now please heed the following warning. :!: DANGER :!: I don't care who you are, what kind of sexual experiences you've had in the past, how street-smart you are or how good your game is.... after this trip,

YOU WILL be phucked forever.

The addiction takes hold the minute the doors close and the jet bridge is pulled away from your plane leaving C.R.

You'll get home, filled with great memories that will prompt you to tell everyone you know about. Don't do it.

You will sit up nights, unable to sleep, thinking about the hot spinner that ground your beef to a Reggaetone tune. You'll smell the perfumes the girls wear. You will suddenly crave an Imperial (which IMHO isn't very good beer, but it IS Costa Rican).

You'll start looking at your bank accounts and work schedule, trying to find time and money for a quick return.

You'll become agitated, restless, bored. A mild but persistent depression may set in, as you look at the gringas around you.

You will lie to your spouse or girlfriend, or at least to your boss. If you smoke, your consumption will double for awhile. You may drink more, trying to drive down the longing.

In short, you will behave like any addict in need of a fix.

I make this warning not as a joke, but as a serious caveat. Know before you even take your first trip: Even if you only have a marginally good time, you will be addicted.

Don't think it will happen to you? Yeah, so did I. I thought I'd be immune; a quick and fun experience, and then I'd move on. In a couple very short weeks, I became addicted to Latina poosie, Centennario rum, Pilsen beer, gallo pinto, ceviche and the companionship of good fellas of CRT.

Five years later, and the addiction still hasn't eased. If anything it's gotten worse.

So, please go into your first trip with the knowledge that you're flirting with a lifelong addiction here.

I wish you luck and safety. Enjoy your trip. :D

This is so true but let me tell you the good side of it all, my wife and I split about 2 years ago and we all know how that is so after feeling sorry for myself I started to read about CR and started to watch the web cam at the Blue Marlin and the more I would read on here the more I wanted to go, so I did the passport thing and checking flights and again watching the web cam every day I got so pumped up, but trust me I was scared at the same time, after all I was going into a third world country by myself but I am a very careful person. So last year I made my first trip and as I was on that jet my mind was going crazy with all kinds of thoughts so when I got there and got in the cab at the airport which I knew was going to be a crazy ride and it was, there it was the DelRey as I walked in and they took my bags at the front desk there must have been 50 to 75 girls walking around, and by the way that was about 12 noon I did feel like a rock star and after 4 nights there I am a stronger person and American girls can kiss it, I could care less about them. So after 3 trips in 1 year, I will watch my money and get ready for the next time, it is the best Counseling you will ever have and has made me a stronger person, and as I was told WELCOME TO THE REST OF YOUR LIFE..

To add my nickel

It is not just the honeys. Not just those apple shaped bottoms in those just too tight jeans. It is not the views on Avenida Central as those hotties role by like it's a beauty pagent on steroids. It is not being the prey for hotties that most of us fantasized about all through puberty. Not even the anything goes as long as you got the dough life. Its Porno meets Disneyland.

But more than all of that, it's the flow. A place where legends are made. Fantasies fulfilled. Where brothers bond in ways we have not since junior high football.

Yeah, watch your wallets and beware of a big butt and a smile. But in this life para me nada es prometido. Pure Vida!!!

A friend of mine and his wife were talking about their lives and asked each other if there was something they would like to do before they die. His wish was to play St. Andrews Golf Course. Hers was to go to Florida and swim with the dolphins. They both accomplished these things within 6 months.

I thought these were pretty lame fantasies. I never had a fantasy to do one last thing because I don't think you can find any real satisfaction by doing one last thing unless you are really near the end of your life.

I never had a bucket list but if I did it would only have one thing on it......travel to a mongering destination and enjoy the women as often as possible. Then rinse and repeat as life allows. It may not work for everyone but it is the right prescription for me. When I look back at my life I should feel lucky that I grew up in the comfort and wealth of the USA. Instead I fight regrets I have over a wasted life because I could not seem to overcome my issues. I didn't know how and I couldn't find help.

I cannot understand why they make it a crime in most countries for people like me to pay for comfort. I guess if you are not like other people then you are a pervert. I lived most of my life without the affection of a woman. It was so bad that I felt deep appreciation for the lady cleaning my teeth because I was actually getting touched. Like a chimp being groomed it was comforting. And then I found Costa Rica and discovered that these girls would spend an hour or two with me, laughing and loving, and I would feel like a million bucks.

I think I can accept my past life with grace now and look forward to the future. These honeys have given my life a measure of satisfaction that has brought inner peace. No amount of professional counseling could have turned my life around like my trips to Costa Rica. It’s three years now since I made my first trip and each trip has been healing and thrilling.

I am forever indebted to this forum for giving me the information I needed to plan my first trip. Thank you to all of the brothers that have shared their stories.

Old Q. Dog: Exactly! That's what I meant above... it's the entirety of the experience, from the urban nitty-gritty to the gallo pinto, from the smiles of the little tico ch*ldren and their knowing, provocative mothers. it's music I never hear in my little corner of America. It is indeed the flow.

Lost: I will disagree with one statement you make in your above report. In fact, prostitution is legal in more countries than it is not. In the Western world, only the U.S. and the Vatican prohibit prostitution outright (unless you consider the small-county Nevada brothels). It may be zoned, restricted or otherwise controlled, but it is mostly legal. Even in some repressive Muslim countries, prostitution is legal in a way. For instance, in Iran one can arrange "marriages" with a local mullah for a few bucks, then have the marriage "dissolved" the following morning by the same mullah for a few dollars more. Lord knows Dubai has p4p.

It seems that only in the most puritanical/repressive nations is prostitution illegal. And I live in one such country.

To quote the late George Carlin: "Selling is legal. Fu*king is legal. Why isn't selling fu*king legal?"

Shoot all we wanted to do was fish on the first visit, had no clue on the mongering issue. We got quitely inspired by a couple of guys on the plane and guess what, its time for a 2nd trip already. We will still go fishing but we are doing alot more trolling too.

Lot's of talk about the "ugly american."...what about the "ugly tico" who identifies a newbie americano and tries to hit him up for cash or other identity theft type scams....

My take on the ticos, they are amateurs at the taking advantage of tourist scam. but they never-the-less do it.

When I was in SJ back in April I met a CRT guru I think he manages this website and I also think his screen name is papa...something. Great guy and gave me lots of info. I would like to reconnect with him and talk about my next trip which will be #3
