Forget the cigars they smell and make every thing around them smell.

I understand Brother Joker99's point but that can be remedied by an outdoor venue or proper indoor ventilation. To see how 1 LV hotel handles this, see:

I am meeting with the Architect today and it is one of my topics. I will only do it if we can keep the air fresh for others.

We have 26 rooms. The rates are $49 for a standard, $59 for Deluxe queen and they have one suite at $99. These prices are fully inclusive of taxes but before the 10% CRT discount. So the effective rates are $44, $53 and $99 respectivley. A continental breakfast is included. Over half the rooms have been redone with new tile and flat screen TVs. All rooms have electronic safes and mimi bars. I am happy to tour rooms for anyone that wishes to stop by.

Thes prices are in the same neighborhood as the Old wing of the Sl, all the rooms at the Castillo and the basic rooms at the Amistad. This is simply my opinion as I have not stayed at the Castillo or Amistad.

I called the other day and they quoted me that the CRT discounted rate was 59 dollars for the deluxe queen and taxes were not included. I think you need to reiterate to her that the deluxe queen should be 53 which includes taxes, maybe she was just new I dont know but they need to be clear on this matter I think they are confused exactly what their discount is..
BKtuna: Anyway Im booking for beginning of october and if I get the 53 rate for the deluxe queen I will try it for a few days. If its 59 with out taxes thats too close to Amistad pricing and not worth the effort to switch.
Thanks

I'm going to be making my 12th trip in about a week and a half. I will definitely stop by to sample the restaurant and enjoy the bar. I have had my reservations at the SL for about 4 months or I would consider staying there too.

I do have a question though, I was out on your web site and noticed that there was a refernce to many places to take dance classes. Well I dance like a gringo and would love to take a couple of beginners classes. Does anyone have any contact info?

Thanks

There is a sign for a place next to Salsa 54 which is on calle 3 on the opposite corner from the Auto Mercado. There is another place in escazu centro next toe PUB that has classes. I do not have contact info. I know some of the language schoolsoffer dance classes too.

As has been mentioned here before, there's a small chain of dance studios called Merecumbe. Your hotelier can help you find the nearest one, contact info, etc. And (broken record JazzboCR here) you can practice at that huge Tico dance hall called El Tobogan--BYO Chica there but doubt anybody will laugh or scorn you there. Good food, cold beer and 10-14 piece live bands on weekends. I go just for the music. Ticos love to party.

I just looked at the Dunn's website (Yes Admin, I clicked through from CRT :D).

I'm going to have to visit and maybe stay there for a few days in a future trip -- it looks nice. I'll definitely stop by for a meal or happy hour next month.
