Staying at The Intercontinental, and I am reading posts mentioning No Ticas, or chance of hooking up in their bar. Someone mentioned when I register to Get TWO keys (one for the "Wife" who is arrriving later"). Does this help in getting a chica to the room? also any nearby places to meet the gals? disco dance? etc.
thanks.!!

Two keys, or not.....they'll have someone watching the front door, like a rabid pit bull....just watching for a chica that looks like she just stepped out of the Del Rey.

Your best bet will be the massage parlors. 8)

Not to stomp on Brother FilmHits balls too heavily, but this illustrates why we have a Newbie Forum and why it's important to read.
Another option is taking a DelRey deb or SL sweetie to a "love motel". Search under that name and find one suited to you.

I have been reading the board thoroughly, including the Newbies section. I had no choice in the Hotel, however, I was told by a resident friend to get an additional key "for My Wife" who is arriving later. that may give access to a Tica, also a nice "Tip" for the doorman and concierge may help break the old stodgy traditions?. but hey, I could be wrong.

The love motel Motel Eden is only 5 minutes fromthe gulch andis very nice for about $35 bucks.

You could also just get a cheap room downtown for a few nights. There are options from $35 to $60 that are ez to swallow especially when you offset cab costs to Escazu and back

I think you should consider getting the cheapest room at The Freebird. It`s close to the DR and many MPs.Plus the rooms are very nice.

Depends :D

The first time I ever went to SJ I stayed at the Intercontinental Escazu. It's a very nice American style hotel, with a "executive" floor. The exec floor has a dedicated concierge, a private lounge, and free breakfast. I got to "know" the concierge very well during that first trip -- very pretty gal.

Wonder what happened to her (this is back in 1996).

All reminiscing aside, I'd do what the brothers are suggesting -- get a cheap room at the Morazan, 1 block from HDR and no chica fee. That way you keep the action separate from business.

After getting royally screwed by ripoff places like "Hollywood" and "Tango Indio" strip clubswhich a friend wanted to check out, we finally hit The Blue Marlin... met two nice lookin Ticas who were cousins, and did the nasty at the hotel down the block. Only negative about the Blue Marlin, was the smoke. Guess everyone smokes in CR.
Thanks everyone again for your comments. Will return
