I am very happy to be working with the Dunn Inn team. We also are beginning construction on a very nice upscale lounge and casino adjacent to the Hotel. We anticipate 8-12 months for the construction. I hope to see you for happy hours and the Wednesday dinner. Please contact me for reservations and for any info you may need on our rooms and amenities. I will be at the hotel most days from 10am until 6 pm and through dinner on Wednesdays. We also would like any recommendations you have that might help our renovation and update plans.

Good news. I know where I will be staying if I cannot get a room at La Amistad. It is great to see more and more hotels gathering to our kind.

Maybe BKtuna can chime in on this one since he is an insider. Many of the CRT members have always asked me if I was afraid to lose my favorite room at La Amistad, since I’m always preaching in how nice it is. My theory have always been is that as hotels like the SL and La Amistad occupancy rate gets closer to 100% even on the off season. The rest of the hotel chain management will notice this and start gradually adopting the same business models as the SL and La Amistad, aka great service. Lately, we also starting to hear good things about the Dune Inn and by the latest advertising are looking to be heavy promoters of the type of guest like ourselves.

Are we into something here and as we guide all members to “chica friendly” hotels? Are we making a difference or just wishful thinking?

The owners of the Dunn Inn did not know about CRT until March when I showed it to them. They are very comfortable with the CRT crowd. The new lounge and casino we are building will be very Chica Friendly. The financial answer is simple, CRT guys come to San Jose repeatedly regardless of season and spend a lot more on food, beverage and gambling than the typical ecotourist. The existing bar and restaurant is also chica friendly. Two CRT guys and there SL regular chicas had luncha nd drinks there today and no one paid any attention to them.

As to roaches, The Dunn Inn is kept very clean. I have seen the big CR roaches in every apt I have had as well as a bunch of other establishments. The staff here prides itself on clean and neat facilities.

The staff at the Dunn Inn are definitely very friendly. they will do their best to make sure your accomodation is as comfortable as can be.

as far as the roaches, i stayed at the Dunn Inn about 6 months ago for 3 nights and I definitely witnessed multiple instance of roaches in my room. I told the girl in the front they had the maid come to my room and spray some stuff there to get rid of them.

What I'm afraid of is that maybe not enough customers are alerting the management about the roach problem. Maybe the Management need to do a more frequent extermination instead of their existing schedule to rid the problem.

Of all the places i've stayed in sanjose (Presidente/SL/LA/Clarion/Freebird), unfortunately Dunn Inn is the only place i've experienced roaches.
