Guys,

I'm going to San Jose in November and will primarily hang at the Del Rey, where I will have rooms. My buddies and I wanted to also book backup rooms at the Presidente, including one of the suites with the oversized jacuzzis.

Our plan was to take our preferred providers back to the Presidente for a little happy hour every day (cocktails, jacuzzi, laughs, etc).

We will also chill at the backup hotel whenever we need a break from the Del Rey scene.

I'd like to have penthouse quality rooms at a chica friendly hotel within walking distance to the DR. I'm really interested in a room with a large party center or jacuzzi.

The Presidente is sold out on my dates. Are there any other UPSCALE hotels that meet my parameters? I am not cost sensitive - more interested in simply securing nice rooms with great ambience for my boys trip.

Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance

WWolf

El Leon, or the 2 bedroom suite at SL, both in the mansion wing. This should fit what you need...

i have a suggestion.

join the board as a full member.

going to CR without being a full member of this board does not make sense

cost wise and potential enjoyment wise.

Californicationdude has it right. Joining the board will more than pay for itself. Even CR residents find the membership is well worth it. I say that because the greatest savings comes from dicounts on lodging.

Join as a lifetime member.

Have you looked into the Sleep Inn?

Sleep inn is definitely the place to book. almost brand new.

you save alot of taxi fares staying there.

getting a reservation at sportmens lodge is no walk in the park from

from what i read on this board due to the high occupancy.

also the reservation process at del rey is kind of goat rope like.

The Sleep Inn though is not upscale. While it's better than 70% of what passes for hotels in CR, it's still a SI, same as a Super 8, and pales in comparision to the mansion wing of the SL or the bigger suites at the Presidente. It also has a $25 chica fee.

I have to ask...

Why also book rooms at the del Rey in addition to your "chill spot" hotel? Are you perhaps a bit put-off by sleeping in the same beds where you had congress with ladies of the evening? I don't know how to tell you this, but any bed within 20 miles of the Hotel del Rey has seen more sex than Dr. Ruth, Ron Jeremy and Cujo, combined. :P

Why not follow the suggestions of others here, book your accomodations at the Sportsmen's Lodge (in the Mansion wing or top-floor penthouse only) or alternately, one of the top-shelf penthouses at Hotel la Amistad. Forget the delRey. If you want a shag shack, there are cheaper alternatives that are at least equally sleazy. Don't forget, the friendly and generous management of the Hotel del Rey charges a $10.00 per chica per visit "guest charge," and depending upon your activity level you can burn through a lot of money needlessly. You sound like a high roller and perhaps don't care, but why pay bullsh*t extra charges? So you can say you stayed at Central America's Biggest brothel? Yippie......hooray.

Book the Mansion wing or the penthouse at the Sportsmen's Lodge or a penthouse suite at the Amistad...and here's best wishes for a great trip.

Oh, and BTW... another option: C.C.I. Perhaps someone will kindly repost the link to the video onyoutube... I can't seem to see it.
