I'd like to take an mp tour with one of the vets, or even a newbie, makes no difference to me! The zip-line idea isn't bad either. I'm about 270 pounds. Think the tree would snap on me?
WarCriminal,
I've done the zip-line several times and you need to know this. Even though you're in a full harness, zipping along on a cable from platform to platform, it's still a pretty good workout.
It's called a "canopy tour" for a reason. You're in the canopy of the jungle / rain-forest. There is little to no breeze and it gets hot as hell. Plus, depending on which canopy tour you choose - some of them you have to do a little hiking uphill from one platform to the next. And it's hot as hell, and you'll be sweating like a pig. Also, some of the cables are a 6 or 7 feet above the platform, so you have to lift yourself up high enough to clip your "roller wheels" over the top of the cable, so some arm and upper body strength is important. And did I mention - it can be hot as hell ?!?!
The canopy tours that I've done have been in Guanacaste, so maybe it's not as hot at the ones outside of SJO. It's still a lot of fun, but it does make for a bit of a work-out. Have fun!
